Dude, he'd sell us out for some good German beer. :D

I wouldn't sell you out for German beer. Belgian beer, maybe. Put some Westvleteren 12 on the table, and I can't make any promises.

(I was lucky enough to try that stuff on two occasions. It's pretty spectacular. Very hard to find even in Europe - costs about 18 Euros (about $21) for a 330-ml bottle if you do come across it.)

Technology licenses to produce mostly commodity chemicals from the Middle East to Turkey to India to China. Perfect storm of conditions to create the situation.

I had a couple bottles in a nice local bar in Brussels. Pretty amazing stuff. It was only 10 Euros at the time - probably 2012ish.

In Brussels, I'm sure it's easier to get, which would make it cheaper. I also think 2012 was before the best beer in the world vote, which would likely impact the price.

Of course, the monks who make it are militant about only making enough and only charging enough to keep the monastery open. To us it's a phenomenal beer that we don't mind getting butt-slammed from time to time to get, but to them, it's an act of service to God. It's people further down the chain who jack up the price. Strangely, the first place I ever saw it was at the Ramstein Air Base Shoppette. Somebody with AAFES got their hands on a few cases that quickly sold out. The next time I saw it was at Maruhn, the most awesome beer store in the world. They had about 4 in stock in a special display case. Never saw it again. Of course, I bought both times.

My local brewery makes a Belgium Dubbel. It’s my current go to.

Rittenhouse walks free if he has a non biased, intelligent jury.

You could have said the same thing about Chauvin so there are no guarantees.

Rittenhouse has a much stronger case and an undoubtedly less hostile pool of jurors.

Plenty of good smaller breweries in the US have made some excellent Belgian-style beers. This is the best time to be a beer-drinker in the history of humanity.

Chauvin had a strong case with a buttload of reasonable doubt but you're correct with the jurors.

But self defense in the Rittenhouse case should be a no brainer.

If any case was a no brainer it was OJ and we know how that turned out. Could be prospective jurors on both sides. What are the chances this turns out hung jury?

They also make a 8.2 abv Belgium Golden Ale that’s great, but it’s like martinis and boobs. One isn’t enough and 3 is too damn many.

I think he had reasonable doubt too, but it's definitely easier to rationalize a guilty verdict in Chauvin's case than in Rittenhouse's. Rittenhouse's case isn't even a close call.

Belgian beers and Rittenhouse trial. What an odd back and forth.

I started a new thread focusing on the Rittenhouse case and outcome. BLM was involved in the Kenosha riots, but though it would be good to focus a discussion on him alone.

I do have a minor disagreement. If Rittenhouse's case involved the shooting of people of color, I don't think he would have a chance. He does here.

My firm is not far from this. we have to have a "diverse" interview panel and a diverse candidate pool being interviewed. If not, we can't fill the position. as a result I have 2 Sr. Cyber positions open for 7+ months. to be fair, these are hard to fill on a good day, but layering these diversity requirements has made it near impossible.
