Hate that school, hope it burns down, never want to play them again, actually sad about the SEC move because we will have to see their barnyard living, sheep-loving, nose picking, reality denying, unshowered asses again.

    Where's the Tylenol?

What made that great was thinking it was eternal scoreboard unless we ended up playing those buffoons in a bowl game. Now, it is just a cute memory.

Unless you are chasing that Tylenol with whiskey and Xanax, you have a much higher tolerance level than me. The Vino perhaps? Gallons and gallons of vino.

I was there that night. It was the first time I had been back since the 16-6 game. And just like 1995, I didn't really celebrate until we were back in DFW. In addition to feeling unsafe, you leave that place feeling.......dirty. After the 16-6 game I swore I would never go back. The game in 2011 was like going to a funeral, just to verify that there is a corpse. Now they are back.

Will NEVER forget Case McCoy's whirling run at the end. And the joy of watching Tucker's kick sail through the uprights...leaving the gomers absolutely dumbfounded.

Honestly, I'm glad the game is coming back. Some of my best CFB memories (95, 98, 05, 09, 11, etc.) involve us putting a whipping on A&M. TG/T+1 versus TCU, Tech, or K-State just doesn't hold the same appeal.

Since we are going to play them, my request is that OU still be in the Cotton Bowl, second Saturday in October in the middle of The State Fair.

Thanksgiving weekend be the three major games with one Thursday night, one Friday night, one Saturday at 230 or 7

    Egg Bowl
    Iron Bowl

I dislike them as much as anyone. They are sanctimonious and hypocritical. And the thought of losing to them makes my stomach ache. But I miss playing them. The nervousness, anxiety, anticipation all on game day. I miss it. Also miss the total jubilation about kicking their ***.

Let's do it. Thanksgiving Day night. I'm all in.

George Bailey No beans in my chili, thank you

I never knew much about anm growing up, other than I loved my Horns beating them. Then I married into a family of aggys. It was almost like I'd married into a religion instead of a bunch of dudes that attended the same school. But Thanksgivings were fun early in our marriage. I fondly recall not being invited to a dinner one year. Based solely on my use of words like 'cult' and 'empty trophy cases' at the previous year's dinner.

Most of my Thanksgivings growing up were miserable because they kicked our asses more times than not. I hate them. They are lunatics with their aggieness. I hate that we will be playing them again.

OU kicking our *** with regularity hasn't got us in gear to compete with the big dogs.

I'll bet if aggy kicks our *** with regularity that will get us in gear to do what is necessary to compete.

On one hand, I can’t believe we are already ten years removed from that.
I thought we’d washed our hands of these jagoffs forever. It’s way too soon.

On the other hand it seems like another lifetime ago. Even during Mack’s waning years, watching longhorn football was so much better. I don’t even get frustrated when we play badly anymore. It’s just “ hah, we suck”

Apt description. They really are a cult. And members of a cult almost always have no awareness of their mindless adherence to the accepted — make that, required— practices of the…cult.

Without any study of the nature of cults, most objective observers can perceive behavior that is not considered normal by society. That would be TAM.

Near the end of that game my heart rate was so high that I was afraid that something bad was going to happen. I watched from San Antonio and once the game ended I jumped into an ice cold pool. My heart rate stayed up for hours.

Yes, my apathy the last few games disgust me. I don't recall ever having this recent negative mindset in watching the Horns for 60 years.... Sark has got to right the ship.

Wow! That's an intense reaction to a game against a non-rival. You should probably avoid watching the K-State game as the outcome of such a real rivalry game might cause you to stroke-out!

    G&P,

My first trip to The Cesspool on the Brazos was in 67 and a loss to aTm. Texas had reeled off 10-12 in a row prior to that. As soon as the last play was completed, the PA announcer started calling for a doctor, "any doctor or medically trained personnel" to section 5 (?), row 16. An Ag in his 70s had a heart attack and died immediately after the win.

You must be an Aggie. That’s OK. Everyone is welcome here.

    And BTW, you lost.

Well, I've made my 3rd trip to DKR today. Hopefully no one will have a heart attack. Better attended than I expected.

Sabre, I'm curious to get your thoughts on this: Would you be open to switching A&M and Arkansas on the schedule? So, for example, Texas would play A&M in week 2 (night game) and Arkansas on the Friday after thanksgiving.

    G&P,

All joking aside, Memorial Stadium has a complete surgery suite capable of doing open heart & bypass, because The University of Texas has averaged one heart attack per home game for the last 60 years. It was my understanding that LAN presented a similar plan for the renovation and expansion of Kyle Field.

Unfortunately, the powers that be in Brazos County rejected LAN, which is about 80% Aggies, and who did Owen Field, Neyland, The Swamp, Bryant-Denehey, Jordan/Hare, Memorial Stadium, LSU, Doak Campbell, Bryce (??), Folsom Field. Instead, the Aggies hired an engineering firm out of KC, made up of almost exclusively of K-State grads, to design Kyle.

I would oppose it. If we have to play them, then let's go back to the traditional T or T+1.

Other consideration is that Jerrah wants us to play a "big game" at JerryWorld. I'm sure he would campaign to have us play the pigs there, since they have trouble getting Aggies to show up because of his prices.

As long as Nock owns the hotels and my friend is Johnny Tyson's attorney, I don't mind going to XNA. They still don't like us, but they are not nearly as bad as they were in the 60s - 80s. You can actually get served in restaurants and buy gasoline now.

Yeah, A&M really screwed up by hiring Populous to renovate Kyle Field. Only complete rubes would hire those clowns.
