UGA VS. UM would be obvious choice for overall marquee and pure football appeal. For me personally...I want to see OSU get in the playoff and play anybody including one of the big boys. Just want someone to root for.
Give me Cincy over Okie St. If we aren't close to sniffing the playoffs then I want as much chaos as we can get.
Almost always agree w you iis....But you seem to think a lot more of Bama this year than I do. I will be very surprised if they beat UGA...and don't think they'd beat UM.
To be clear, I think Georgia is much better than any remaining teams. I only think Saban has a psychological advantage and they have the horses to be competitive.
This^^^^^ If not for the psychological advantage nothing about this year says Bama should win. (vs UGA or in general) Telling they arent the favorites in a game for the first time in awhile.
As would I. A good friend's dad (who was a Georgia alum and HUGE fan) passed away at the beginning of the season so it'd be sweet for him to watch his Dawgs win it all from the best seats in the house. That, plus any opportunity to make Saban frown is welcome in my world.
Man...the Bama effect is real here. I get they have had a talent and psychological stranglehold for years....They just dont look the same. Go look at the results. UGA has been crushing teams that Bama played fairly close. How can anyone pick Bama to crush UM or any legitimate contender? They haven't crushed a P5 team all year save the Vols who were a mess early and Mississippi State at home. I never bet against Bama...but they arent the same team this year by any measurement...except the one ii's points to. I'll place my first "bet" in years against the Tide this Saturday. And no way do they crush UM if they played. I bet the line in that game would be 3pts Bama and should be even....and I'm a looong time UM disbeliever. If Auburn sacked Bryce 6 times...how many will UMs line get??
You guys have made me want to see UM and Bama now...that's a fun matchup and I'd love to see the result. Too bad... I dont believe it will happen....
I’m going to be interested in how B12 does in its bowls because I said early in season the B12 looked weak this season. Us playing the better teams close and then losing to Kansas solidified my feelings so I’m interested in seeing how it plays out come bowl season.
I just don't care who wins NC game if its not the horns. However i wouldnt want a team to win it all if they a relatively easy regular season schedule
I would like to see Baylor and Cincinnati and the tv ratings go in the tank followed by an elimination of “The Committee”.
Sabre, Living in Houston as you do and watching Bill'O taking down the Texans in many ways over the years. Can't say anything else without going to West mall here. I hope anyone who plays Bama puts 100 points on them and Bama doesn't score. Then Bill'O gets his walking papers. I know, how do I really feel about him?
I can't stand O'Brine and really hoped he would get the VT job. As for Houston's minor league football club, I don't watch them on TV unless they are playing someone I like. I know Saban is reinventing a bunch of lives, but I really want him to outplace O'Brine as soon as possible.
Alabama has dominated college football since they beat us in the BCS. They are the Joneses until Georgia knocks them off Saturday. They will show up Saturday to prove they are still who they think they are. Saban will have them motivated. With that said, Georgia’s defense is 1985 Bears good. I’m looking forward to the game. Either Georgia dominates and knocks them off the mountain, or it’s an underdog champion proving a point. Must watch football.
I miss the Bum Phillips Luv Ya Blu days. Those were great. Went to a lot of those Houston Oiler games. Even made a few playoff games with Earl. Loved the Dome.
EDT, I was never an Oilers fan, but held Bud Adams in highest regard. I was a member of "The Bay Area Athletic Club', which owned SkyBox 650, on the 50 yard line. Lots of great stories about those days. One I always found fascinating was Billy "White Shoes" Johnson did not eat seafood, but after every home game, he and his wife went to Angelo's on South Main where Charlie Angelo had as many as two dozen pork chops cut for Johnson. They were fried and brought to the table. As small as he was, Johnson could put away 9-12 by himself. I had the privilege of helping sponsor the Earl Campbell-Tim Wilson Charity Golf Tournament. One year around 82/83, We were at Westwood Country Club for the auction/entertainment part of the tournament. I had a table for 8/10 with friends, but here comes Earl with Bum in tow, grabbed a chair next to me, told Bum to sit down, and said, "Don't you two think it's about time you talked".
