More news from the minor leagues. Colorado State has fired head coach Steve Addazio after going 4-12 in two seasons. The Denver Post is pushing Jim McElwain (Central Michigan—formerly at Colo State and Florida) as a potential replacement. A possible homecoming for a good-enough coach. The expectations aren’t too high in the shadows of the Front Ranges. Beat CU and break even or better most years, and you can stay for life. However, they’ve plowed in a lot of $$$ and fund raising into their facilities lately, so 4-12 ain’t gonna cut it—even in Ft Collins.
Colorado State HC requirements 1) Must like Granola 2) Must drive a Subaru 3) Must know all the words to "Mellow Yellow" Anybody ever seen their business school? About the size of the Delt house.
My niece got her occupational therapy degree at Colorado State. When we visited her one spring I was shocked at how small the campus was, however Ft. Collins was a great little town.
Apparently a Sooner publication posted a story 30 minutes ago that Dan Lanning will be the next coach. About 5 minutes after posting the story they retracted it. Sooner fans losing their mind on social media after the Georgia performance today and saying what Sarks offense did to him in 2020. Lol
I am probably crazy, but I think TH will come back to a major program and I think he will be very successful. I think he was greatly humbled and will learn from the experience.
You may be overrating him. I have seen nothing in his behavior to date to suggest humility or an ability to learn from his mistakes.
For what it's worth: Tom Herman says he prefers to remain in NFL amid speculation of return to college football, per report
Looks like venables back to gooner U. But what does SI know?? OU to Hire Clemson's Brent Venables, Ole Miss' Jeff Lebby to Follow? - The Grove Report – Sports Illustrated at Ole Miss
While I never feel bad for OU, what Riley is doing is pretty despicable in my view. OU and Stoops set him up with a great situation for a first time HC, and he basically screwed them.
And……….in the wake of his Twitter stunt, Lane Kiffin has now purportedly signed a contract extension with Ole Miss for around $7.5 Million per year. I guess Victories and Class aren’t cheap.
Multiple Miami sources are saying Mario Cristobal will leave Oregon for Miami. it’s purportedly in the works. He’ll be coming home. Further, Cristobal has reportedly been “non-committal” with Oregon regarding whether he’ll be staying at Eugene.
Joe Brady, the offensive mastermind of LSU vaunted national championship pass offense just fired from job as Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator. I bet he lands as OC with A big time college program soon
Personally I can't see why a guy would leave Oregon resources and Nike money for a school with Miami's narrow fan base.
Could be a very personal decision. He’s from there. Miami is his place. Also, his ailing mother lives there.
That's an unfair comment. Just because you can fit them all in a VW van, doesn't mean they are "narrow".
Brett McMurphy of Action Network HQ tweeted that Miami’s push to hire Mario Cristobal has become very chaotic. A multitude of boosters, donors, and board members have purportedly now gotten involved. “Everybody is in charge, and Nobody is in charge.” So you thought we were the only ones with that sort of problem …
