Assuming Cook is returning as well.

Some guys want to go out as winners. If I wasn't 100% sure I was getting drafted, I'd have done the same thing.

    I really do think

    Good dudes coming back
    &
    Fussy players leaving
    =
Sark is the right kind of coach we need.

To me it is surprising that these players are coming back. Doing so is rare in this day and age. Having it happen when the team just had a 5-7 year is stunning.

Seems to me that this can only happen if the players believe in the HC. If “they” do, wouldn’t prospective recruits?

Feeling same way Duke. Hoping I wasn’t just wishing it was a good thing so glad to hear someone agrees.

Proof is in the pudding. We’re getting good players for next year in terms of returning juniors, portals, and recruits.

Also remember Sark got Worthy to transfer from Michigan and Keilan from Alabama.

I'm sure they all feel like they can upgrade their draft status considering the dismal year we had, espeically the defense. But I thought O would be the most likely to leave. I thought him beign drafted was pretty much a certainty.

I'm actually more excited about Cook coming back than Jamison although certainly glad for both of them. Cook seemed like his light switch clicked this year and may have been our most consistent player on defense.

I agree- I think Jamison is really good. Played hard. As did 0.
    Cook is underrated

At the very least they will add solid depth if they don't start. So its good news.
I am already feeling a touch of my 12-0 optimsm for '22:smokin:

The old saying, actions speak louder than words, comes to mind. Overshown passed up NFL money to play his final season at UT. Awesome news.

Here is what this means to me-
The coaching staff wants them back and these players want to play for the coaching staff.
Sark said in his press conference that he was going to have some honest feedback to some to go elsewhere and thus… I don’t see transfer guys as a bad thing this year. Maybe he’s changing the culture.

Yep! Saw that on another site. He announced his return this morning.

I like the ones coming back that indicated they did not want to go out after a losing season.

I hope this means that they understand the direction that this coaching staff wants to take the team. The end of Mack, then Strong followed by Herman. This year sucked but probably a necessity because as Sark said, "Winning hides a lot of things." Burn it all down and let's rebuild it the right way

In the NIL world we live in now, maybe a tweener type player decides to stay and still be able to make a few bucks.

I'm guessing there was some of that, but they've been working on treating the salvageable and cutting out what they determined was not.

This may be one area where NIL might have a POSITIVE impact on college football. It's a little easier to wait when you can make good money through NIL agreements.

Or maybe those guys weren't the problem?
