I don’t think the games are forfeited in out of conference play - just canceled.

HUGE difference when she isn’t running the show.

Yup, so lackluster this half. Hopefully, she will start in the 3rd and put a little pep in their steps!:hookem::arrow-up:

Is that midrange floater something JAT has always tried and was just something she was making last season? It seems to be the shot she takes from the elbow/FT line in and it hasn’t been very effective.

If you ever needed evidence that film and game-plan prep matters, this game is it.

Someone should check and see if Vik has stomped a dent into the floor.

This game reminded me of how negatively the reffing affects the women’s game. Let them play. For the love of God…

It was very difficult to get energized in such a large and mostly vacant arena. Texas fans were dispersed throughout the arena as well so that didn’t help either. Will not go down as one of the funnest games I’ve ever attended

I had to go look at the box score to verify that our TO were way out of control. 19 for Texas and 21 for SD. They average 19, so that's normal. But we DID average 13 per game. Multiple passes to people who weren't expecting passes or were nowhere close to receiving the pass. SMH.

I felt bad for the players on both teams. The men’s game wasn’t much better. I was hoping more Longhorn fans would hang around but not many did. The lack of respect and support for the women’s game pisses me off. So the players got to see them all leave during their warmups of course.

I was disappointed when Rori got in foul trouble the 2 Senior did not ride the Ship.
Taylor and Warren. What I noticed this year about these 2 player's. They stand around and wait on other player's too shoot. I don't get that. You are a Senior lead.

Vic did a very classy thing after the game. After thanking USD's coach, he addressed the entire USD team, who all looked eager to have him speak to them. That encounter lasted about 60 seconds.

I assume he thanked them and told them they did a very selfless thing by agreeing to play back-to-back games at a moment's notice and gave Texas all they could handle.

USD's defense was very tight for almost the entire game. They brought 16 players, only one of which was injured (on crutches), and their coach substituted freely, keeping them fresh. Give her and them credit.

Vic is a class act! We got the right coach. Now if only there’s a clause in his contract that’ll forbid him to leave unless he’s retiring. Am I asking for too much? Lol

Yes the USD team looked very pleased about Vic’s words for them. He really is such a class act and I know I keep saying but I love that he’s the head coach at Texas

I wish I would have counted the number of times he stopped his heel on the floor. You could easily hear it whether you were watching him or not. He actually sat down at one point but it was very brief. Like for one play

Elephant in the room... what's the deal with Hunter playing so little last night? Anybody see anything that I'm not seeing?

I took the same notes. Vic pulled Hunter after the player she was guarding made a three point shot (in the 1Q or 2Q). I watched her while she was on the court and from my perspective, Kyndall was playing at the same level as our other players. I assume there must be something more to the story because as it stands, she’s not getting enough playing time to improve.

My most positive observation is how fluid Joanne is looking running all over the court. I did not get to watch our previous game, and perhaps it was already discussed here. But, after the first few games of the season, I didn't think her conditioning was where it should be; seemed like she was really struggling in keeping up.

Perhaps it was a gradual improvement with her conditioning and fitness; perhaps she was dinged up again and wasn't at full speed. Regardless, happy to see her gliding out there.

Yeah, makes the loss of Chevalier even more irritating…I believe she would have stayed if she had not been on the bench so much..JMHO!
