    Very Hard To Watch

These announcers give almost no info regarding who is on the field.
Unless you meet one of the following
    - a QB
    -headed to Bama

For the last 30 minutes I tried to find a usable roster. One that gives the players name and number along with what team. I gave up.

In the past I enjoyed watching this, but it’s so discombobulated that I am moving on.

I did find Banks and the dude is solid as a blocker.

They should affix a sticker on the back of the helmets if they Signed.

Several Aggies with the mandatory Ol Sarge uniform were in attendance.
    1. Aggie Cap
    2. Aggie Tshirt
    3. Aggie shorts or Jorts
    4. Mid calf socks with Aggie emblem proudly showing.

Announcers giving a lot of love for A&M. Weigman and receivers looking good. A&M gonna be a force.
But so are we. We will see if Sark's coaching will bring us victory.
Another touchdown for an A&M recruit #1 TE. Crap. A&M class is freaking ridiculous and could get better today. Crap

Harold perkins: and the winner is:

    A&M
    Crap and more crap
Is this class for A&M the best #1 class of all time for any team? Maybe.

Agree looks impressive on paper. Won’t truly know for a couple years. I’m still impressed with ours. We will see.

That's just what I was thinking. They are set up like the 85 Bears on defense. It's sick. I figured Perkins might want to anchor that unit.

We’ll see how good this aggy class turns out in 3 years. Lots can, and probably will happen before then. If jimbo is unable to bring the trophy home with this group, aggy never will. aggy gonna aggy.
I guess their fan base has forgotten other teams recruit talented players also.

I hate when Texas players go elsewhere and then their fan base gloats. It's ridiculous.

Different world now, how many portal after year 1 or as the three ESPN announcers continuously proclaimed that we will see them play in Sunday…. And for the ones who ride the pine and choose to take their talents elsewhere.

Attrition has always eaten away at recruiting classes once full of hopeful and promising high school stars. I don't think anybody can argue against this.

The open portal will only create more attrition. Therefore, excessive gloating over the high school kids you just signed (or pissing your pants over the ones your rival just signed) seems an even sillier exercise than it used to be.

With that said, Sabre, as usual, has the right perspective. If Jimbo can stack multiple classes like this one, he will have a powerhouse team in Malfunction Junction. It takes multiple stellar classes to overcome the inevitable attrition that will happen within each individual class. It took Mack six recruiting years (1999 through 2004) to build the team up to the awesome level of talent our 2005 champions had. It took Dabo Sweeney and Kirby Smart 5 to 6 years to build their powerhouse teams too.

Jimbo is recruiting well but he is no Mack Brown yet. So put on your Depends, you pants-wetters, and let's see if he manages to be consistent. If he does, I might ask you for some sizing recommendations in 2025 or so.

This is likely 100% confirmation bias, but when I saw and heard Perkins today, he wasn’t in the mold of my mind of a Longhorn but more like Aggie. I told my wife he was going aggy after he spoke one sentence. It’s possible that aggy got lucky with a large number of “their recruits” this cycle.

College football has been permanently changed by NIL. The NFL is who forces kids to spend ‘three years post-HS’ prior to eligibility knows what they’re doing. They, unlike the NBA, don’t want to spend millions guessing who matures into a professional athlete. Baseball has the good judgement to regulate bonus money for draftees and restrict rookie contracts. Yes, that does screw the HS ‘prospect’ who wants rich NOW. Intentionally! And likely for the better good of every team not in NYC or LA and most of the players. The premature bidding war to buy college freshmen is upon us. Between schools with zero academic interest, guidelines, or oversight and those who would put aTm jerseys on the Dallas Cowboys and call them aggies, there is absolutely no room for the notion of scholar athletes. In 1969, we had 4 doctors to be, three dentists, a few lawyers, and some very good future coaches. The idea of having a guidepost regulation toward ‘progress toward a degree’ is laughable. Real college coaches and legendary programs have no place in this new world. No way Saban will compete on this uphill field for long. Go where the $$$ flow to attract a team is and go far. Postponing these commitment dates is a joke. Who has ever abbreviated an auction when you are holding the goods? Let the bidding continue. The transfer portal is free agency college-style AND it resets the lax academic calendar to an extent that a clever young athlete can completely ignore academic accomplishment standards. We have willingly, enthusiastically become AAA minor league football.

The TE Donovan Green is from my alma mater. So is another aggy TE who might a first round pick this year, Jalen Wydermyer... the last Dickinson Gator that I'm aware of that went to Texas for football is Donnie Little... we got some talent down there. I'd love to see Sark take a look in my neck of the woods.

The truth is that we don't always win. Sometimes the opponents do. It's true in recruiting as well.

We did well in recruiting. Need more talent/depth in the defensive LB/Edge imo via portal or whatever. Or we might be average on defense for a couple of years.

I think we have a natural advantage over the sheep effers, but not until we right the ship.

They've put out some monsters on D into the nfl lately. We'll need to earn more D talent. Hopefully, next year.

    Aggy facts:
...Aggy hasn't won a national championship since Hitler invaded Poland (1939 for the history challenged on here)
...Aggy hasn't won a conference championship since 1998 (RC Slocum)
...Aggy hasn't had a double-digit win season since Sumlin's 1st year (2012)...keep in mind, they only play 8 conference games per season and always schedule at least 1 FCS school)

As a famous coach once said, do not worry about the players you did not get, but worry about developing the ones you got. So personally I dont give a rats butt about other schools or players and as Cincinnat proved,,, if you properly develop the ones you get, you will have a good team.

If you watch some of his film, I dont see this as a loss. He takes way to many plays off and is not the force that you would think. I will take the ones we got and be just fine. Just needed some difference maker LB's.

Without a transcendent player, VY, even with the extraordinary talent, we don’t beat USC. The importance of the QB position cannot be overstated. It’s for that reason that I believe Bama will again beat Georgia…an extremely talented team that lacks an “it” factor leader.

I agree the QB position is the single most crucial roster spot, but that QB can't be the only great player on a team that hopes to compete at an elite level.

Re-watched UA game. Banks is a beast. So much so, he barely looks like he is even having to try very hard to keep the defenders out. Other than the 1 play (sack) where there was confusion between him and the OG (Campbell?) about who had who, he was perfect. To me, he looked the closest to college ready of any OL on either team.

Campbell also looked to have tremendous talent, but instead of looking like he didn't need to try very hard, just didn't look like he was trying very hard. He would make his block and then just quit doing anything and stand there looking around. He does not appear to have the motor of Banks or Neto.

Speaking of Neto, he certainly is the least naturally talented of the three, gives up leverage too easy and he loses some battles, but he has a great motor and battles hard. Some time in the weight room and improved skill work and he will be terrific.

I am anxious to see Earnest Greene this weekend. Of all the HS tape I watched, he looked like the best combination of raw talent, skill and motor. Tremendous feet, athleticism, size, strength, lateral movement, fluidity in space, and that motor. Based only on HS tape (which can be misleading), I wouldn't trade him for Banks but would trade him hands-down for anybody else we signed and Campbell. Greene looks like the real deal.
