Not sure I agree. The first 3 quarters definitely felt like a title fight. Alabama wilting in the 4th took off the tarnish from the teams a bit but I've thought GA was heads and shoulders above everyone all season absent the SEC Title game.

I would just give the big guy some hay and sing the Eyes of Texas to him. It's Bevo's favorite song. That's the way to hangout with him. :hookem:

I guess UGA is sorry about that fumble in the 1984 Cotton Bowl.

Predicting a downhill slide for Alabama. With NIL why should talented players stick around when they could be starting on another team and collecting a paycheck? Seven players entered the transfer protocol. Likely they felt they should have played a bigger role this season. I have zero knowledge of how deep the pockets are at Bama but just my thinking that when these players are wooed and cooed and pockets lined are they really going to be willing to accept a diminished role ?

NIL is something that will turn into a salary cap situation...the genie is out of the bottle, so NIL won't go away. However, I could easily see the restriction being a cap, with the penalty being a loss of scholarship for each set dollar amount beyond the cap.

Alternately, we are going to see a lot of schools where they look to drop down to a lesser level of play because they cannot afford to keep up with what the top-10 NIL schools are paying. You would then get something akin to AAA where a lot of players may not make the show but they are playing in decent stadiums for love of the game while getting a useful degree...

The latter will absolutely happen. And it will be a refuge for fans of classic college football.

I chalk it up to people being tired of seeing Bama play every year or at least having seen those schools play just a few weeks earlier. I watched but wasn't really excited about it.

The Power 4 would eliminate rematches in the finals. And assure only conference champions would prevail.
