Unless we are talking about big high school games. I'm biased because I live in Allen and saw every HS game Kyler played. In my book, Kyler is the best Texas HS football player in the last 50 years (or at least until Earl in the early 70's). Never saw anything like him, and never will again (at the HS level). I cherish the the state titles he brought to Allen. Just like I cherish the NC Vince Young brought to Texas. The fact that one (Vince) was and one (Kyler) could be a complete flop in the NFL does not diminish their previous accomplishments. I could give a flip if both suck/sucked in the NFL.

At least I have positive memories of the "Good Ole Days"!

Hang on to those days, KB. Because they're history.

For now, he has shown what he really is. An over hyped, over blown image of an NFL qb. I saw Earl, Vince, Dickerson in HS. I'd take them over Murray but that's just opinion. Facts are, what we all saw of Murray last night and whenever he goes against grown *** men on a big stage. He's just not up to the challenge

He’s a midget in more ways than one. Referring to his mental make up.

Difference is Dak has already far exceeded his draft-day expectations even if he never plays another snap.

    True, but .....

Is 1-3 in the postseason good enough?

In 6 years, I believe? Not good enough IMO

Cowboys overpaid for Dak and Zeke - not getting the value they thought they were buying.

    HHD,

Jones not only over paid, but also priced them so high that no one will take either off his hands.

SabreHorn, you're (unfortunately) correct. The Cowboys are stuck with these two contracts for the duration.

There must be small particles in the air in Arlington that force Major League Owners overpay for too long of a time. Fielder and Choo for the Rangers and Dak and Zeke for the Cowboys.

Problem there was Dak was too good to just let walk when the team had no other good QB options and wasn't getting a high draft pick, but not good enough to pay top dollar for either.

lots of UT players were fantastic here and went on to be good/average NFL players. Honestly, I don't get why it's a thing.

Strange, considering the brilliant GM Dallas has.

The next QB deals inked by teams other than the Cowboys are going to make Dak's deal look mediocre in comparison. You have to pay the QB, regardless of how middle-of-the-road he is.

But Zeke should have been told to walk. They've gotten nothing but diminishing returns on him, and could have signed at least 2-3 guys for that money who could have helped on the OL, LB, or even the RB spot as well. Hell, just draft a RB every 3 years and make him either the starter or the backup depending on success or lack thereof.

The minute he said pay me and left for Cabo is the same minute I would have said don't come back. The writing was on the wall as it always is for Jerry...Dak, Zeke, Dez, etc.. but he never learns.
Still thinks he is smarter than successful gms and wont quit doing what those dont do.
By the way, Ryan Fitzpatrick was available when they signed Dak and for 1/4 the $$.
And look how he wastes Pollard just to justify paying his personal marketing baby/fave.
Always pays the wrong guys for the wrong reasons at the wrong times.
He will always be a pretend football guy stuck in a marketing guy's body.

Heheh yep. The only shrewd business move Jones has ever made was making the people of Arlington pay for Jerryworld and the like I am sure there are many people he squeezed, ruined, or screwed along the way.

But as a GM he is an absolute, objective joke. And still makes a ton of money being a loser, who does less with more than anyone. Except maybe Dan Snyder.

I'll have to admit that I bought into the promise of great economic impact for Arlington - and I voted "Yes" for the new stadium. 20/20 hindsight...

    Misleading thread title, isn't it?

And OU has what, 72 Heismans to Texas's 2? I'm sure OU fans are really crying about this. Frankly, who cares what college players do once in the NF whatever? What does it have to do with recruiting or winning/losing for Texas? Jack squat.
