Agreed, and not just for her 3pt shooting, but she has a nice Tony Parker like floater driving to the basket. I don't think she gets enough opportunity to display all her talents in the limited time she gets.

Also, Celeste on that list. Losing her has really hurt the offense too.

I miss Celeste most whenever I see an opposing G/W with a bit of length and quickness go off. She would've been an ideal matchup against Gray last night and has the athleticism to guard her without fouling. Also, hearkening back to the Tennessee game, outplayed and stymied Jordan Horston when they were matched up their freshman season. Horston was 1/8 with 3 points and 3 turnovers compared to 28 points and 15 boards this season.

Celeste was my favorite player from day one and it pained me to see her go. My heart fell into my stomach when I saw the news. It seemed like she was such a good fit for Vic’s program too. I will always feel like the chips would have fallen differently if not for the pandemic, but I could be wrong.

Another member of the Celeste fan club here. Coaches never have to coach effort out of Celeste. I admire her non-stop motor on both ends of the court. Her on-ball defense is tremendous. And agree Hornview, she was made for Coach Vic's high pressure ball system. I miss her and I think you're right, without the pandemic, she might still be in Austin.

Didn't we think she would last year? Looking for better academics, or to play on a competitive team?

Really thought she would after last season. Could be for a lot of reasons based on all that's happened at MSU recently.

Will be interesting to see if she is transferring right away as most schools have already begun their Spring semesters; still time to enroll at some schools.

We do have 3 open ships at the moment for this semester. Wouldn't surprise me to see her transfer back home to Michigan.

If you read closely, one of the assistants left about a month ago after getting into a rift with the interim head coach. Jackson also in a rift with a player with most recent in yesterday’s game. Just a lot going on with that program right now.

Strictly from a roster perspective, Rickea would fit in at Texas next season as the starting small forward; she would fill an immediate need no doubt, even if it is just going to be for one season.

If she had entered the portal last season as many expected, I would’ve said Texas would be the overwhelming favorite. Now? I’d put my money on Michigan.

Horns will be extremely short of experience next year. Jackson for one year would be a tremendous bridge to allow the young wings to grow without the responsibility to carry the team. The good news is Schaefer knows the type player she is…..more what kind of character. Who really knows her demeanor and who really had the problems on the team. If she is the one trying to make her teammates accountable…..then good. If she is the one being selfish and other then that’s another story. I have no idea which way it is.

Like you said.....Schaefer KNOWS..... I trust him and his judgment..... Regardless of where Rickea goes, she’s a delight to watch, extremely talented, and I wish her all the best....

If World Exposure Portal knows what they are talking about, that’s a fair group of national programs that want her. I doubt those would take a diva into their program…regardless of talent. Will be interesting to see where she lands. Schaefer might have been hard on her as a freshman…..as he can be. Depends on whether Jackson like to be coached hard or not. Regardless…..both know each other. The other programs might be a hit or miss for what she wants. Hope she wants the sure thing and wants to get better.

I’m thinking tonight that it’s so late to be enrolling for spring semester that Jackson will sit out the spring and enroll at her new school in the summer or fall. Then play one year and then go WNBA or overseas. I was hoping she might join the good guys for the rest of the season…..then play 2022-23. Perhaps she is just going to give up this 1/2 season. Especially since she talks about her mental health. Perhaps she needs to step away for this semester.

Even if she had transferred during Winter break, she would not have been immediately eligible to play the second half of the season (Spring semester) at her new school; since she played some games after the Spring semester classes had already started earlier this month, she would for sure not be eligible to play at the new school she enrolled in (like this week).

Based on social media, her Mom tweeted that they would take some time and contact some of the coaches who have already reached out to her; so, sounds like there is no rush on their end to select a new school.

If Rickea transferred to Texas, would she more of a G/F and fill in the vacancy left by Audrey Warren? Or would she be a true F and compete for the spot occupied by Gaston/Moore/Lattimore?

Where does Rickea's skill set translate to the WNBA? A G/F position? I feel confident Rickea will want to select a team that spotlights her skills for the next level. It will also be helpful if the team is in a position to compete for a national championship. Rickea has one year remaining and she'll want to make the most of it.
