If anyone believes this statement I have a bridge in Arizona and a condo (presently occupied by Sabre) to sell you.

"Money won't influence" is the dumbest phrase I've heard about anything. Of course it will!

The landlord has the pricing power.

24 makes the most sense. Buyouts to the Big 12 will be relatively low. And the payout from the SEC gets really high.

I'm in no huge hurry. I'm not sure that you guys should be either. I year or two to get the DL/OL base built will help.

Agree, but will reaccess after the Alabama game in September. Texas is fortunate that that game is in Austin.

Not to sound all negative nancy, but I don't think it matters where that game is played.

While I would agree that a win in Austin on September 10th is unlikely and would be a massive upset, I like our chances on September 9, 2023 in Tuscaloosa. While we will sadly but likely lose Bijan (hopefully a Heisman winner), another year for Ewers and that talented O-Line will be huge.

As I have said before, I am predicting a CFP appearance next year.

Both games are huge. But a win in 23, at Bama, would serve as a hell of a momentum wave into the SEC.

I don’t really care when it happens

but having to rub shoulders and compete with a bunch of southern schools just reminds me of what a stupid move joining the Confederacy was. We don’t belong with these people. The Aggies don’t either, though they are a closer fit

it’s like joining the mafia or one of the cartels. The money might be good but the company sucks

Agree with 1/2 of this. We don't belong with these people, but the ags are an almost perfect cultural fit. Aside from their weird cultish behaviors (which SEC fans seem to make fun of), they belong with the SEC.

Some folks are still clinging to their anti-Southern biases. The SEC is a great fit for athletics. And on par with the B12 academically.

PAC and ACC are not options for many reasons, too far away, PAC 9pm starts, generally lackluster fans in football. Other sports were pretty good fits. Crummy TV contracts. Big 12 good other sports and bad contract for TV. Annoying that many schools competed for the aggie, Nebraska, Arkansas we hate Texas because we have tiny .... BIG was a great choice for football but the other non basketball sports were a BIG problem. SEC has 4 traditional rivals (maybe every year) in OU, ARKY, Mo, and aggie. More than Big 12 now, the money will be unbelievable, baseball, football, swimming, women sports are all competitive and generally well attended. Really was not a contest even though I really liked BIG and Pac mostly for non sports reasons.

What you got against the Mafia? They have their thing and do well at it, we have our thing and hopefully get better at that.

    Same.

We haven’t even left the big 12 yet and already we are promoting the SEC. That’s some serious shade being thrown at our current conference which we still have not left yet and may not for at least a year or two. I don’t like it.

Some of the twitter-verse are speculating the move date will be announced after march madness. They say that the appearance of the SEC logo in the video is a hint. And that the move could be imminent...
