I hope today was the week-long delayed hangover from losing to OK-State because, wow, how they started and the brain farts out in the outfield had me wondering about this team's morale.

Fortunately, Scott picked the best time to come out of her hitting slump and the freshman-OVER-confident base running led to the win.

    Pop? C'mon man!

Once again, a chance for me to yell at the TV, "MARY!!!!! WHAT! ARE! YOU! DOING?"

And then our internet feed cut out for the Pop error, saving a scream at the TV.

But before it cut out, I just said (when up 7-3) as long as this gal doesn't hit a home run......

Tech is a bad team and we scraped by twice. I'm already looking forward to next year wondering what transfer pitcher Mike can entice to join the team.

Dang the ball carries in Lubbock. Dolcini is best against Right hand heavy batting teams, where she can hammer the screw inside. Have a good shot at reaching Supers again, slim for WCWS.

IF we are fortunate enough to host and win a regional I think a good landing spot for us could be Virginia Tech. I think we match up well

Much better than being matched up with Oklahoma in their Super Regional. If we win out with Baylor with our RPI we should host a regional. Hopefully that will push us to a 14 or 15 seed and a match up with either Virginia Tech or UCLA. We can win there or at least we would have a better chance. Anything is better than having to play the land thieves again. That OSU super regional last year was not fun.

I like being paired with UCLA most, Arkansas 2nd, and Va Tech 3rd. Va Tech has two elite pitchers that make winning 2 games tough.

This is real surprising, how fast with a hire like that were they expecting a turn around? Two coaches back Shannon Hays is leading Grand Canyon in the WAC doing pretty good. He was the last coach that actually had them competitive.

Too bad I didn't see any players on their team that I think could help us. One recruit that possibly could help us is Madison McClarity she has some insane power but some swing and miss tendecies. She is similar to Whitaker but more advanced coming in.

Forgot to mention Some possible hires: One of Gassos Sons, North Texas coach Rodney DeLong

Actually before the news dropped this afternoon, I was going to mention that I thought Tech's coaches let the team down. Whereas Mike White finally decided he needed to go "small ball" and started that bunt-fest which led to that flurry of runs in the 6th, Tech didn't change their batting approach.

And to be honest, how much do the ADs of some of these football first schools care about the competitiveness of their softball teams. Apparently Holcutt cares alot. Unless some undisclosed crisis has occurred we haven't heard about.

During the game, the announcer was trying to find some positive spin about Tech softball and said, "And it was only in 2018 that they were at one point ranked #15 in the country". Sure enough in the 2018-2019 season under Gregory they were 42-16. And the last time they were that high was with Hays in 2010-2011.

    NCAA Statistics

I remember Ward's interview on one of the softball podcasts when she was hired. She was very excited about the opportunity at Tech.

Gregory had the same M.O. as the old coach at Kansas Megan Smith. Play cupcakes early win a bunch of games get ranked then get smashed when you get to conference.

it obviously would have nothing to do with wins/losses in year two and considering how the program has performed in the past. this would confirm that, Missy Zoch, played for TTU last season:

Looks like this is Parker’s last season, participating in Senior Day. Listed as a junior but with the COVID year it is technically her senior season.

Just saw this. Yeah, I mean if Patty Gasso is visiting you in middle school and letting you hold a NC trophy, I guess you're bound to go to OU. Can't top that.

I recently looked up Ellsworth's stats at Arkansas. She's started every game, hitting in the mid 300s and has only made THREE errors. Mary's made 10 errors so far.

It's obvious that Mary is "Mike's catcher" as he puts her in catcher for important games. Taylor's hitting was just as spotty as Mary's can be at times. It's just Mary was with Mike from the start and Taylor was a Connie player.

Doesn't make it right. Taylor really lucked out going to a much better team playing in a tough, tough conference.

Looks like Shea's graduating and leaving the team

    Her 4 year record:
    14-3
    6-0
    16-6
    1-3
Best wishes Shea. You always radiated positivity and were a team player.

Lol just trust me, O’Leary will be back next season. She is participating in senior day because she wants to be recognized with her class as she is academically a senior but she still has her extra year that she will be using.

Taylor got screwed when White came in. She's a really good catcher, but her style has been described as "lazy". I don't care how "lazy" she is if she's effective which she was/is. I looked at her stats too...I forgot how good she is. I'd say Arkansas lucked out getting a catcher of her caliber.

Ellsworth just wasn't give the same leash that Iapoko was. She has hit 3rd every game for arkansas and caught or played RF and has thrived.

Also former commits Kayleigh Sand SS (ULL to Rutgers) and Alana Vawter P (Standford) are having good seasons.

There is alot of offensive production on that Senior Day List. And Shay has got to be a better pitcher if she does return. I don't see Coach carrying an unproductive picher.

We are going to be hurting in 2023 for go to pitching. You can't expect Citaly
to come in from AA high school softball and be dominant against power five hitting.
Although Sophia is pitching more consistent lately, she has a ways to go before
she is the go to ace of the staff. The big miss on Raleigh White last year really hurts.
O'leary and Estelle look like pitching machines for batting practice. I hope there's a Dolcini out there for Mike to bring in. Otherwise it might be a long season.

Up 8-0 in the 4th inning....let's go Horns!
And then.....Aye Carumba. Pull her Mike!

Mike was so sure about giving Czech a long rope he had no one warming up and had to give up some runs until Day(?!?) could warm up.

At least he could her me yelling at the TV to bring in Dolcini for the last inning. Sheesh. If he'd just left her in 2 more innings.....

Poor Czech. Every game getting worse.

Where they play HS ball has nothing to do with it anymore. Hasn't mattered for the last 20 years. It's hard for any pitcher to come into a P5 school and be dominant as a freshman.

I could not agree with you more.
I know I should get over it but everytime ESPN mentions the one that left us for okst it pisses me off. But I digress. But I beleive we are too good of a program and school for Coach White to not find that gem we are missing. I just need one with more than a year of eligibility left. I think we all knew about Mary and Janae but I didn't see Parker leaving. Gonna need youngsters to really step up next year.
