yes, exactly! We always know that things and situations can change, maybe. It all depends on the coach of any team.

Its not called "bent out of shape" in responding.

Why so hostile, because I can comment. OMG! You mad?
I appreciate any well wishes, who wouldnt want that. YOU mentioned betting on something not happening. I do not live nor operate that way. YOU may, but I do not think negatively. STATISTICS....who cares. You are probably in a stereotypical situation, as well, as far as STATISTICS are concerned.....but I think you have beat some of those? Right?!? Bet on yourself.

Look, best wishes to all! Yep, I'll "crawl back under my rock" as brnkj suggest. lol

Its funny to read some of this stuff. Entertaining sometimes. AT least you are not on apps playing bingo for hours.

Its all entertaining. But just be conscious. Its online and its free to read.
    We're good.

    carryon....

I wouldn't have drafted her with the number one pick, but also think she made the right decision. If her dream was to be a professional athlete, there's nothing that she was going to learn and improve on as a player in college, that she couldn't have done with a year under her belt and a full off season without classes or other things getting in the way.

I'm trying to find where anyone talked bad about Charli. As long as folks aren't making it personal, there's nothing wrong with critiquing and giving their opinion on a college or professional athletes basketball game.

I’m not sure saying Charli went 4-5 against Egbo (a rookie in an exhibition game with no WNBA experience) and letting Egbo go 4-5 is quite making the case the poster thinks they are. Unfortunately I did not get to see that game, so I don’t know the whole story.
I want Charli to do well in the WNBA as much as the next person, but as a Dallas Wings fan that watches as many of their games as possible have yet to find myself wanting her to get put in a game where the outcome means something (which is all of them basically because the league’s season is so short).
Maybe she could do well shooting the 3 but she has not exactly been a defensive stalwart and rebounding machine to earn more minutes either compared to the players in front of her on the roster.
Not saying any of this to bash Charli it just seems it’s the cold hard truth up to this point in her young career and I’m hoping the best is yet to come because I really want her to succeed and I’d love her to do that in Dallas

So she needs to EARN something before she is able to do something that shes good at. I hear ya.
A great coach will utilize talents from all to gain results. We'll see.

Yep, in her chosen profession she sure does have to EARN playing time. It’s not handed to you based on where you’re drafted. I’m surprised that’s news to you. Get over yourself

And I guess cc fan missed the part of this thread where I said that I hoped Charli had knocked the piss out of Egbo during their altercation. I am a fan of Charli and want her to be a success in the pros. But some people need to get a thicker skin.

Well, your guy said " I'm really hoping Charli does well in the pros, but I'm doubting the probability more and more." I'm not sure what your profession is but its like saying in the beginning of your professional career, and only 1 game into the new year with knowing everything (and you do not!)....you doubt. In all actuality, growth does happen.

No one ever said anything about where drafted . You get over yourself.
I am just saying to utilize in all ways. Whats up with that.

I welcome Charli Collier's fan (cc fan). But I'm having great difficulty following your train of thought. If I'm interpreting you correctly, you're trying to communicate that Charli isn't being used correctly.

Oh yes. i saw that and couldn't stop laughing. I wish you could have seen the reaction. I get it...we are good. I just saw an opportunity to express some things after the comment. no problem. I honestly wish there was a center veteran on that team. That would be great to have had a Sylvia Fowles, or someone like her on that team as a model. Just saying.

With all due respect you haven’t exactly been the best communicator of your point(s).
Plus your initial response was to throw out a bomb trashing posters and saying you were gonna log out and not bother to read responses. But yet, here you still are. All over the place and then complaining we are not getting your point. If you’re going to complain how posters post, get ready to be treated in kind.

My response was in defense of someone saying that it was probable on her pro career moving forward. There are some elite coaches in the W. Some are more savvy than others. Not sure how much of the W games that you watch. Different styles and offenses throughout. So I'm hoping growth of her game will be shown from year to year. But to bash so early and predict nothing more from an interesting start to a young career, is confusing and judgemental. A lot of people had a lot to say when Charli was a freshman at Texas. Her sophomore year was a different more progressive year....then the following year added a little more as well. No one expected WNBA stuff. The noise came after she was shooting outside and showing versatility. In the W.....this team do not need her to do that. So you are seeing only a part of her game and to most thats not appealling.
Heck, we'll see whats in the future. Its all entertaining!!!

Maybe the league will expand and get more teams. Would be amazing for these young professionals.

Charli will always be a beloved Longhorn for life. I think pretty much everyone wants to see her do well. My main thing was that I support her decision to go pro, but wish she would've stayed that extra year for development -- plus I wanted to see her sock it to Ebgo and Smith when they had to contend with Charli and another one of our post players.

In her last year at UT Charli had pretty much no help in the paint, and that gave teams with multiple post players the chance to gang up on her. I don't think Smith or Egbo could've handled Charli if they would have had to guard her without the help defense of the other. On the flip side, Charli had to basically try to fend both of them off of the glass which also was a huge disadvantage for her.

My comment about short-sightedness was more about the players I saw skip out on an extra year of eligibility only to find themselves on nobody's WNBA roster. That's not the case with Charli and I'm hoping it stays that way. I'm wondering with the addition of T. McGowan if Charli might get the chance to play PF, but there's lots of competition for that spot also with Sabally, Thornton, Kuier, and possibly Harrison.

I'll say it again... I hope Charli knocked the piss out of Egbo! Wish I could see that on replay of some sort.

Watched that game and Charli was about to sub in but missed coming in initially because she was still wearing a necklace. I think she was in for about a minute even though Kuier took a shot to the face and I don’t remember her coming back. She was not getting any playing time before and now Sabally is back in the states. I’d be surprised if Dallas isn’t shopping Charli around the league because the Wings coach doesn’t seem too interested in playing her.

Wing Season ticket holder here. I sure was hoping during the off season Charli caught up to the speed of the game. It still hasn't clicked for her how fast the game is played in the W. She still has not grasp she has to constantly move and demand the ball.

I don't know what kind of drills they run but repetition is the key for her. They need to run the play 590 times in game time speed until she gets it and the light bulb goes off. She just hasn't caught up to the speed of the game. She's 3 steps behind.

I'm pulling for her. I hope she has a personal trainer working on her speed and foot work. Its a lot to take on but once it clicks in her mind she should be ok. My concern is how long will it take. Hopefully she'll get it quickly or she might get cut.

And she's not the only Wing player that has not grasp the speed of the game. T Harris and McGowan are also learning. I can see Harris processing it in her mind instead of just playing which results in 5009 dribbles and a turn over. Her mind is trying to catch up to the game.

Despite a season in the WNBA and a season overseas, Charli doesn't look even the least bit impressive. IMO, her climb up to a consistent playing position looks beyond arduous to me. Since the return of Cowan and Sabally, her involvement is "0", and I don't see that improving with the Wings.

Sounds like she should go to a coach/team that will allow her to play to her strengths and help her improve. I surely would hate to see her not succeed.

I cringe every time I watch a game or check a box score and she's barely played. Her entry into last night's game was delayed because she hadn't removed some jewelry... perhaps not expecting to play at all. Maybe she'll be traded to a team that needs her more.
