Hey, hey!!! HOCKLEY, Texas. — For the fourth time in the last five Big 12 Championships, the No. 13 Texas Women's Golf squad won the conference title. The Longhorns took the team lead in round two on Saturday and never relinquished it, shooting a 54-hole score of 24-over-par 876 (291-287-298) over three days at The Clubs at Houston Oaks to claim the Big 12 crown. The team victory was the first of the season for UT as they held off No. 6 Oklahoma State and No. 15 Baylor on Sunday by finishing the final day with a 14-over-par 298. Freshman Bohyun Park led the Longhorns, tying for third place with a four-over-par 217 (72-70-75) in her first career Big 12 Championship. Senior Sara Kouskova was sixth at five-over-par 218 (71-74-73), while sophomore Bentley Cotton was tied for 11th at nine-over-par 222 (74-71-77). Park and Kouskova both earned Big 12 All-Tournament Team honors.
NCAA Finals started today. Not a strong start today for the Horns. Hopefully they play better the next 3 days.
Still out of 8th for match play by 8 strokes but today was much better with still some clear areas of improvement. Will be a fight to stay in it tomorrow (don’t they get down to top 15?) and then position for top 8 (for match play).
Not looking like the best day. I bet we still end up in top 15 to advance to tomorrow. But I doubt we’re going to make it to match play. most seem to be having a similar day but we’re just not making up ground.
Did make cut for top 15. But 13 shots out of 8th for match play. That’s a lot to make up! Still that’s a good finish!
Texas shot well today, finishing +1. Texas finished 13th after 4 days of golf, but apparently today’s great score wasn’t enough to finish top 8.
