Among a number of decent starting D-1 portal entries, there were several P-5 all conference OL xfers available. One publicly stated he hoped for an invite to visit UT and the other one looked around awhile before finally settling on OU. Our 3 best OL last year were Kersetter and Okafor, with Angulau not far behind. 2 of the 3 are now gone and we know the young guys did not step up. Re-watching the games, I have been floored by how many times Bijan had to juke or break a tackle of a defender a couple yards deep in the backfield (more plays than not). With 1/2 way decent blocking, he would have had double his 1,100 yards in 2021. We have likely gotten some really good true frosh OL coming in to build the future from. But, very rarely, if ever have I seen a really good, or even ‘good’ true frosh OL playing in a P-5 division. Maybe a couple that were ‘good’ by mid November. UT will have played 10 games by mid November. We also really needed a stout edge and I don’t blame Sark for that because he tried to fix the problem in the portal and it just didn’t happen. But OL? MN (now Rutgers) Curtis Dunlap and Cal (now OU) Mettauer were absolute studs, and there were a number of other options better than what we will have in 2022 and Sark made zero effort for, that we know of. I think he gambled 2022 to get Campbell’s commitment for the future, made him a promise no more OL, or something. I just hope Sark is around to enjoy that future OL and I hope we don’t have another losing, or even a mediocre season that kills the recruiting hype that Sark is ‘the guy’ to turn it around that deflects the top end recruits to Aggie, Bama, Georgia, Oregon, OU and USC. Hey, if Strong had brought in a transfer QB period, even if not a really good one, he wouldn’t have been ripped nearly as badly as doing nothing about a very serious problem he admittedly knew he had.

Sark- walk away from Rueben Owens.

    Forever.

Thank him, sincerely wish him the best and then block him from your phone.
Don’t follow him on Twitter, don’t respond to his emails.
I was on the fence before with his waffling and statements, but he’s a beautiful CoEd with a penchant for flirting with every guy at the dance.
She just kissed the fat kid with with no future.
    Louisville? Geez.
    Move on

Update: and as sour grapes as this is, I do wish him well. It’s his choice- but Mr Owens. Stick to it. I bet you don’t.

Is it the old Third Ward syndrome of handing him a degree when he arrives in August?

Pappa Johns is banned, so what does that leave. Liberty could let him start all the tire fires he wants, plus guarantee him a contract with the Steelers.

Is Louisville the El Campo of college football?

Not really, El Campo is too cosmopolitan to compare to Louisville.

There are some less desirable places around The Great Republic, but there is nothing in The Lone Star State as pathetic as Loserville. Only place I've been worse is Columbus, Ohio.

    Badass,

Don't know the clown but he does look like someone that Arch might confide in and provide all his confidential info. Is this guy serious?

Dayton, Ohio, can give Columbus a good run for the title of "worst city in America."

General consensus appears to be that Coach Choice cooled on Owens recently and decided to pursue Baxter, much like Coach Drayton did with Bijan over Evans a few years ago.

Doesn't sound like Owens will be recruited by Texas going forward, but obviously a long way to go.

IT saying OL Vysen Lang of Pike Road, AL is on his way to Austin.

Arkansas is considered his leader, and the Texas staff would take a commitment from him.

Vysen Lang, Pike Road, Offensive Tackle

I like 247 the best of all the services ... do not subscribe but enjoy their free stuff. Sources usually are other recruits or recruit parents they have known for several years covering them ... it is not direct quotes from Arch ... but 247 provides exposure to many recruits before they are well known and they establish a rapport

My point is that I’m noticing a trend in HS recruits who read too much of their own press.
Once they’ve convinced themselves that they will “showcase their talents for the next three years” AND then flip on a commitment and then continue to take visits… are a flight risk later, if they don’t start year two.
Humble yourselves young lads until you earned it at the next level.
