If Ole Miss gets an early lead, do they gamble and pull DeLucia so he has some innings left in his arm?
That’s a legit question because Ole Miss’ bullpen is loaded and capable. I think most of the college baseball world underestimated these guys for most of the season. I sure did.
Another aside: DeLucia is a Jr College transfer. We need to keep hitting up the JCs for top pitchers and batters.
Baseball is a strange game. The 3 schools left were 2 or 3 seeds in the Regionals. I believe Ole Miss was a bubble team just to get in.

Dave can horn gets snake bit again. next question is, if they have to go to game three, will dalucia be available or pitch at all?
I am pulling for Ole Miss, but all of ou's pitchers are either well rested now or will be throughout the 3 game series. The extra game that Ole Miss had to play probably will be the difference in the series. If Ole Miss can steal one of the first two games, they have a good shot with the guy who pitched today even with 3 days rest.
DeLucia was on fire. 9 full innings 0 runs 0 walks 4 hits (DeLucia = Jr college transfer) Wish they had him for OU, but it was lose and go home today. Gotta pitch your bell cow and go with some others later.
I’ve been loosely following the Rebels run through the playoffs. DeLucia is one BAMF, but don’t worry. Ole Miss has 2-3 other pitchers equal to just about anyone we’ll see from OU. In particular, that long haired dude they put on the mound (Elliot) has been smoking their competition all throughout the playoffs. They’ve also got a good bullpen. Scrappy team with the momentum of a 2 ton boulder rolling down Pikes Peak. but………….. The frat boy segment of their fan base is still rather douchey though… And they like to wear their Nantucket Reds… With polo or Oxford shirts… Standing next to young women who look like those you’d find at TCU… (hmmmmmm…maybe not such a bad place after all…)
For anyone out there thinking of rooting for ou, I provide this key reminder - It's 7:40 A.M., and ou still sucks!
No way in hell I root for gooner. I did root for them against agroid, but that's like do I root for Nazi Germany or Hirohito Japan.
I always root for OU *unless* they are playing us, or playing for a natl championship. So, go Rebels!
The projections I’m seeing indicate that OU will start their ace tonight—Jake Bennett. Ole Miss will likely go with either Elliot or Dougherty, or some combination tag-team of the two tonight. Elliot would be the staff ace if it weren’t for DeLucia being on the same team. Both have been on fire throughout the playoffs. Old timers might direct Elliot to the Goodall Wooten barbershop if he came to Austin. But don’t let the lack of a haircut fool you—Elliot is one stud on the mound. Ole Miss 1 OU 0 in the first Elko singled then advanced to second on a wild pitch/passed ball. Then a single was enough to drive him in.
OU shooting itself in the foot. The man on first stole 2nd. Then he advanced to third on ANOTHER WILD PITCH PASSED BALL Then OU makes an error and Alderman drives him in. 2-0 Ole Miss Bennett is wild tonight.
