We are driving to a scenario where the big schools extricate themselves from the NCAA. The top 60 or so teams will be a part of it. OU and tu will be involved and do well. :)

That would be so funny if tOSU left right as USC and UCLA came in. It is just amazing to me that the BIG 10 contract is so big. There are so many crummy match ups. And if the PAC dies what will i watch in the 9pm slot?

Both CU and the state of Colorado are broke financially, with both having a reputation for making deals they can't pay for. Their reputation and their clueless fanbase makes them only slightly more desirable than the neverwas wannabes Bowelsby is bringing in. (Yes, I went to CU Graduate School of Business, and follow the destruction created by Hoffman.)

That ship sailed when Delaney was commissioner. They got their invites as an inseparable pair, and UNC said, "not without Duke". Hence, Delaney got his TV count from Rutgers & UMd. UNC is still controlled by Swofford, who thinks the ACC should be named after him.

Bowelsby should try to trade them some of those "Harvards of the South" he's bringing in for Washington & Oregon.

It is amazing how far Colorado has fallen since the National Championship. I'm am also amazed by their general indifference.

Nebraska's fall is the exact opposite, a quick fall but the fan base is not indifferent to the point of delusion (kinda of like me every preseason).

At least it looks like Sark is trying to fix it by bringing in ballers and unloading the malcontents.

My favorite moments in CU athletic history are:

    1) Hoffman running off Folsom Field begging McCartney not to resign after she was the last to find out that Bill would announce his retirement in the post-game news conference. (She had told Bill to tone down his involvement with Promise Keepers, which he founded.)

    2) Hoffman's quote of "What do you mean we don't have the money" right after she fired Gary Barnett without realizing CU would owe him some $3-5 million payout.

    Pickle_Nuts Will travel with tickets.

I can see this but as for the outsiders looking in, why not treat it like the European Soccer leagues and allow schools to rise and fall based on athletic program success.

Yes, even as I am typing this, I already see problems Title IX not being the most challenging but it sounded good so I shared it.

Can we just give aggy back to the BigXII and poach Clemson or FSU instead?

    SN,

I don't think you have to "poach" either. You just have to get South Carolina and Florida to say "yes".

Title IX is a financial burden. Some schools can afford it but many cant.

    BUT...

Does Texas really want the reputation of a wandering nomad that only chases the almighty dollar instead of abiding by commitments?

These pictures have nothing to do with USC and UCLA switching conferences and shouldn't be on this board. Said NO ONE EVER!

Just give it a few years, and USC will likely be stomping through the Big 10.

For a typical USC team (over the years):
USC can match Ohio State, and beat the rest of them, for physicality.
USC can beat all of them for athleticism.

Yeah, but USC has that crappy overpaid coach who let Stoops' machine become a lot less well-oiled on his watch.

Yeah, the way he won the Big 12 thrice and had 2 Hypesman winners was piss poor. Yes, my sarcasm detector is working.

On 1), I thought Hoffman was at ISU when McCartney retired in '94? She didn't come to CU until 2000, right?

You may be, and probably are correct, my old memory fails me sometimes. I would have bet one hundred cents of my last dollar it was her, but maybe that's why I don't have a dollar to bet.

She was CU's Fenves & Powers rolled into one; they are and will be trying to recover from her for years to come.
