Sydir Mitchell just got a Texas pick on On3 from some guy named Chad Simmons.

Also a Georgia mod on Rivals flipped his pick on Mitchell from UGA to Texas.

Another 6'6" big bodied lineman. I'm getting the feeling in a year or two we're going to have the largest O & D lines in the country. Hopefully they have developed skills to match and if so watch out.

Reminds me of Mike Leach's o-lines at Tech. I was always very impressed. He would have one of the top 3 heaviest o-lines in the country each year, almost all of whom were 3 star recruits. They were almost always very tall and tons of them were drafted.

Leach was at Tech from 2000 to 2009. His recruits eligible for the draft would have been limited to 2004 to 2009:

    2005 Daniel Loper - Tackle - 5th round - 6'6" 320
    2005 Dylan Gandy - Guard - 4th round - 6' 3" 295
    2006 EJ Whitley - Center - 7th round - 6' 5" 293
    2007 Manuel Ramirez - Guard - 4th round - 6' 3" 326
    2009 Louis Vasquez - Guard - 3rd round - 6' 4" 330

    Big humans.

This is really interesting. I was never sure how good those TTU OL were, or frankly really even needed to be. Each was about 4 feet wide, then lined up 5 feet apart with gigantic splits. The opposing DEs were lined up 15 yards away from the TTU QB who caught the snap, stood up and threw the ball in a second and a half. I don't know if that aspect was Leach invention or he got it from Hall Mumme, but it certainly worked in a new and unusual way.

What about the guy who played for TTU and wore all the grease paint on his face with a Mohawk? I thought he was drafted?

Leach's splits and his use of the tennis gun were unique to him (maybe he did get them from Mumme).

IT posted that it looks like a Tennessee vs. Texas battle for DL Hunter Osborne of Trussville, AL.

His parents aren't exactly enamored with Clemson, and his Tennessee visit didn't go as well as visits to Clemson and Texas.

The family has signed off on Texas to this point.

    Hunter Osborne, Hewitt-Trussville, Defensive Line

Those guys were also very adroit at holding. I contend that if the officials hadn’t shut their eyes and actually called the multiple holds on Orakpo, we win the 2008 game. Easily.

Mansfield Timberview's Andre Cojoe, a 6-foot-6-inch three-star interior offensive lineman, pledged next. Then Jaydon Chatman shocked the group when the four-star Harker Heights prospect committed. Finally, Melissa offensive tackle Trevor Goosby flipped his commitment from TCU to Texas to cap off a historic recruiting day for the Longhorns. The momentum has only built since, as Texas received commitments from eight prospects in four days time, punctuated by Desoto wide receiver Johntay Cook II,to propel them to the No.3-ranked recruiting class in the nation.

Stroh was the first from Texas's pivotal official visit to commit and played an integral part in convincing the others to join him, but he certainly won't take all the credit for the massive haul. The Longhorns were leading Stroh's recruitment, but it wasn't until the nation's No.1-overall prospect, Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning, committed that Stroh decided to shut down his own process.

"I was really leaning towards Texas, and I was probably going to commit that weekend, but then Arch (Manning) committing just tipped that," Stroh said. "And I think that’s what tipped it for a lot of guys too."

That’s a good point, I have a few on ignore.
Not as a boycott- more to just move on from over the top negative posters.
I do enjoy respectful debate on topic, but some are hammers looking for nails.
    I am
Off every social media, I including LinkedIn as of last week when some woman who lives in NC that I’ve never met implied that I “probably “ have mistresses because I disagreed with a post.
It’s a crazy world we live in now.

With those four behemoths, if they develop as we hope, even I could be the starting center*, and I’m smaller, fatter, and older.

*Just one play, late 4th quarter, victory formation.
