I’m sure everyone has heard the news about Arterio Morris by now. I just warned to see what everyone’s thoughts were regarding the situation and if he deserves to play for Texas now.
I agree with UTexRulz. suspended, but not outright dismissed - yet. It is very true that people can learn from their mistakes and change their lives, but that doesn't mean they get to avoid all consequences of their bad actions. One of the consequences here needs to be basketball related, so AM can learn that playing basketball, getting scholarships and NIL money, these are privileges, not rights, and they come with the fundamental expectation of decent behavior in all aspects of life. I hope he learns some hard lessons that make him a better man as he moves forward with his life, whatever direction that life goes.
I definitely believe in second chances but, the messages he sent to her mocking her being in the hospital and putting his hands on her is something that needs to be seriously considered. Texas is in a tough spot because, he was arrested and had a restraining order against him prior so it’s going to look very bad on Texas part if they allow him to play this season. I don’t think he should be dismissed completely but I do believe a suspension for the season is necessary and requiring him to go to therapy and get help during that time. If he decides to move on from Texas then it is what it is but, we have no room for that type of character and behavior in a Texas uniform.
Well said. I am open to anything from an outright dismissal to a welcome back depending on his behavior going forward, and I trust CDC and coach to make that determination.
Everyone under 21 should get a second chance in any situation that involves hormones and inability to think.
Yeah I definitely believe in second chances and believe this incident shouldn’t be the downfall of his career but, he needs to know there are consequences and a season suspension will show him what he did is Just unacceptable and won’t be tolerated. I trust Beard and CDC will handle this as they will have more details. Regardless I hope he gets the help and changes his mindset.
know how many bailer threads we'd have to delete off this message board? lol 2nd chance at life? yes 2nd chance at college? yes 2nd chance at sports? maybe 2nd chance at scholarship? maybe not.
If true I agree. There are millions of boys/teenagers who would never do this. hormones are no excuse.
Wow, not the first time and he already had a restraining order against him. Folks this was his second chance. I say get the hell out town punk and dont ever come back. I dam sure will never watch him play and will want anyone who allows him to stay on campus to be fired. He has done nothing to deserve strike 3.
