I never wanted UT to join the SEC.
It feels like joining the Mob.
Or the football version of The Games Of Thrones… untrustworthy, backstabbing, with delusional fans that brag about loyalty while in fact doing dastardly acts.
My evidence is backed by listening to the Paul Finebaum show callers, admittedly I did once for about 15 minutes until I changed the channel.

Finebaum “Dag from Huntsville what have got for me”
Dag “Roll Tide, Paul. I think we go all the way. We ain’t scared of Georgia”

Geez… struggled through a similar caller three more times and I knew UT made a bad decision.

Moot question because the Irish aren't joining the Big XII.

However, they don't move the needle for me at all. I'd rather be free from dingleberries like Baylor, KSU, etc than keep them just to also get ND.

The fly in the ointment is our current solution trades one set of dingleberry programs for aTm, the biggest shitstain in the region.

Why on earth would the Irish join the Big 12?
    • There is no cultural fit
    • There are no longtime rivalries involved like USC or Michigan
    • There are no existing Big 12 programs strong enough to do anything to burnish Notre Dame's claim in any given year to a playoff spot
    • The money would never likely be as good as they might get from joining the B1G or SEC.
    I just don't see it.

Even if it somehow happened, the rest of the Big 12 would still have all the problems it has today. Dysfunctional conference + Notre Dame is still dysfunctional.

ND had their shot and it cost the Big XII Clemson & FSU. Now that is totally on Bowelsby & NeinASS, but the Catholics loved having their asses kissed and watching Swofford laugh the whole time.

ND belongs in the BigTen, which with the new TV contract needs to jettison Rutgers & UMd since the new contract is not tied to number of TVs in the region (not viewers, just TVs)

ND belongs in the B10 so their fans can continue to sit in the stands at -15 degrees without their shirts on like the other B10 nuts.
I remember as a kid watching ND games with all these foolhardy men in bitter cold, as I got older I figured out the power of strong drink as a possible factor.

Won't happen, but I'll play along.

Yes, I would. And it would likely save the conference if ND joined and Texas and OU stayed, both in terms of money and level of competition.

Add Louisville or Cincinnati to get us to 12 teams, and also solidifies a presence in the Midwest (ISU, ND, WVU, Louisville/Cincinnati).

If the Big 12 gets SFA, UTEP and Texas PanAm, we could dominate the Texas TV market?

15 minutes of Finebaum? Yikes! I avoid that dreck like it's the plague! Seriously, there's prolly an entire chapter in the Geneva Convention about not subjecting POWs to Finebaum.

I’ll play, too. Texas OU Clemson Florida State SC UCLA and ND shoulda joined forces to form nucleus of a new conference.

If I could find a Thanos glove I would snap my fingers and whisk ND, BYU, Liberty U, and Baylor off to their very own conference of church-chartered schools (along with TCU, SMU, Loyola, Duke, Boston College, and a few others) which would be divided into two divisions, into which the schools would be sorted on the basis of being True Believers or Party Schools.

Or I'd snap by fingers and get myself a Subaru Outback.

Same in Boise. I told my daughter I was liking the Outback and her exact words were, “over my dead body”. Was pretty funny.

Back when I was in college I hung around with several kids who were from Arvada and Westminster CO. They were a bad influence on me.
