Yes. We had some student athletes not do as well as their ranking indicated. Anyway, with a strong 400 relay, we will finish 2nd.

    Women’s finals on Saturday.

Watched the 4 x4 relays where we finished 4th, a big disappointment. trying to find split times. The third leg is where we fell off the cliff. We were 2nd going into the 3rd and dead last going into the 4th leg where our anchor made up a lot of ground to finish 4th, a remarkable feat. Something had to be wrong with our 3rd leg.

We could not catch Fla even if we had won the relay.

Looked back at the indoor 4 x 4 relay team and the guy that ran third leg indoor did not run in the outdoor.
Do not know if he graduated or was hurt.

I am sure that you are better informed than me, but why did we win the 2022 indoor and not have an indoor facility. Does Fla. have an indoor?

We have a legit shot to win the team title. We have the high jump, triple jump, 4x100, 100, 200, 400, 800, and 4x400

How are team points awarded for an event. I think it is 10 for a first place and I believe we got 5 for our 4th place finish in the 4 x 4.

Rain in Oregon. Women win 4x100. Our hepthalon athlete is 20th, likely affected by the rain. She faulted on Long Jump and got no points. Could be the difference between 1st and 2nd.

Florida may come away with the team title. We lead 42-39 but, they will gain 20 points from triple jump and the heptathlon. We really got hurt by Gittens not gaining any points as well as Blazevica when both were expected to finish 2nd in their respective events. If they get top 3 then the team title is ours but it wasn’t their day today.

If I’m doing my math correctly and things stand where they are Florida should lead 59-56 at the 4x400. So the team title should come down to that race and we need to win or get 2nd and hope Florida doesn’t get top 5.

Looks like Hep finish is going to seal it for them. Maybe unless they DQ, which I’d bet won’t happen. (And if they get points from the 5K it won’t matter.)

    Still, excited for our team!!!

Nevermind, Florida added more points in the heptathlon so we now trail by 10 and I would say Florida has it locked down. Those missed points in the heptathlon and high jump ruined our chances at a team title.

They also get 2nd in the 5K. Yeah we laid a few goose eggs but Florida showed up in several key areas. They just got us this year.

Yeah, we blew it. Amazing how the Fla men and women teams sre totally opposit in their tesm event strengths

Fla men got 0 points in field events, and scored all their points in speed events. and their women get points in field events.

Of course Florida gets last in the 4x400 lol. Great season nevertheless and runner up with both men and women are great outcomes. We just fumbled a bit in those two events or we would’ve easily won the title but weather also had a play in that. No excuses though and this program is in great hands with coach Flo:hookem:

Congratulations to the University of Texas Mens and Womens Track Teams! What a fabulous accomplishment for both teams to finish as the NCAA Runnerups. I am sure every athlete gave 100% of their effort to do their best at the championships and for that, I applaud each of them. They represented Texas Fight. Congrats on an exciting season. We are so proud of all of our athletes and coaches.

Totally agree. Every sprinter/hurdler on the team look like they were going at 80% speed. Coming in 2nd after that performance is a miracle.

Not Texas but Oregon has not renewed the contract of their head coach and a national search has began. I hope coach Flo loves Texas and turns them down because, I know for a fact they have contacted him.

Kynnedy Flannel has transferred to the university of Florida. Very unexpected to say the least and I hope Julien Alfred uses her final year of outdoor eligibility.
