    It's a cult.

    But mc
Think how it pained WaPo to admit the Great Barrier Reef was healing itself by producing more coral than in decades.
But they couldn't help themselves. They had to add it Might all be undone.

It's a really grotesque form of religion, that's for sure.

Another example. What is being measured is land use changes and urban island heat effect.

Mc, that reminds me of a comment my Dad made years ago while reading the weather page in the paper about how all the concrete in Dallas made it so impossible to cool it down.

Yes the temperature record shows the higher temps are due to higher nighttime temps, not daylight temps.

The Austin news channel basically admits that, saying that the "record" heat wave is due to the lows being a tad higher than in 2011. The highs have actually been lower than 2011. Who cares if it gets to 74 vs 75 in the morning?

In 2011 we had 90 days of 100+ degree heat here in Austin. So far this year we have reached 100 degrees 56 times. The forecast has it in the 90's for the foreseeable future. Looks to me this is going to probably end up being a cooler year than 2011.

2011 was the year I decided I never wanted to live through a Texas summer again.

My thoughts exactly. Well, almost exactly. I was one letter different than you.

Maybe so, but after 27 years of scorching heat and tumbleweed, I was pretty happy to choose mid-70s and this.

I'll take the heat over living in Europe any day.

That pic was in the Azores, not mainland Europe. It's a pretty different culture, and they're too poor to be stupid. Only wealthy countries have time for woke idiocy and gender ideology.

Climate change is becoming like racism - something the Left tries to work into everything.

It's funny you say that. It's 82° right now, and I just took Deez, Jr. to his piano lesson. Instead of going home, I went into our local pub because it has AC. I may be a wuss, but I'm a wuss who's in a cool, comfortable pub drinking a beer. I can go for that kind of wussiness.

Do you talk with the locals about how hot it is? Golly, it’s hot out there! LULZ.

Does that **** AC system at home at least help a little when the temps are in the low 90s?

We got a bigger unit about ten days ago, and it's actually doing quite a bit better. I can live with it at night. We moved our old unit to Deez, Jr.'s room, and it works reasonably well.

They actually like this weather (low 80s). Take it up to 88 or hotter, and then they get grumpy. The heat is coming though.

Spain is quite dry. 78 F would probably be fine but 80 F likely uncomfortable. I was there for 2 weeks in August back in 1997, so I know hot it gets. I suspect commercial activity will shift to 7-11 pm when it is cooler.

Ugh. Spain definitely gets hot, and they have cheap ******** running their hotels. We stayed at a hotel in Madrid, and it is reached 93 degrees in May. The windows couldn't be opened, and the management refused to turn on the AC - said it was too early in the year.
