Calling him a mere douche doesn't do it justice. He's far worse than a douche.

Actually seemed like the least problematic of the problematic ones - don't think he was as staunchly to their side as the rest. In my opinion that's why, when the pressure got turned up, he stopped wanting to have much to do with it any more.

Round Rock ISD just voted to give this sleazy tool an almost $30K bonus. This was posted by one of the bad trustees.

Crazy how "Let's wait and see what the TEA comes up with in their investigation" is somehow a wildly partisan position and not the bare-minimum of common sense.

I still can't believe he's the superintendent. If I had kids they would be home schooled and they wouldn't have smart phones.

The real partisans are the hacks who needlessly voted to extend his contract 20 months before it expires while he's under investigation. Are they afraid some other district is going to try to "steal him away" from his $350K job or that his value will go up if they don't extend his contract now? Pretty foolish decision. Most districts aren't dumb enough to hire a guy while he's under investigation, and his value definitely isn't going up.

A far more likely reason (which they won't say, of course) is that he's probably pressuring them to extend it now because he's afraid the next school board won't extend it. In fact, they might shitcan him, and if they have to break a longer contract to do it, the payoff to him will have to be bigger.

Why this board feels the need to relentlessly lick this guy's nuts makes no sense - unless he has dirt on them.

Deez, I learned just week that the "Faithless 5" school board trustees "got rid" of Dr. Flores who was the previous superintendent. He had to fight tooth and nail to get his proposals passed by these people. So they pressured him to retire and brought in this alleged baby-murderer and domestic abuser. They provided media cover for him and now are giving him more money. He is their guy for some reason. Probably because he is a devoted leftist but there in no information publicly available to really know.

Mary Bone and Danielle Weston are the 2 trustees that are trying to fight the insanity. But of course they are branded as trouble makers because they are working against the new agenda. Because they are fighting policy implementation they are accused of hating public schools and neglecting students. The opposite is true as normal in these types of situations.

For those of you in RRISD jurisdiction, please look through this webpage and vote for the candidates this PAC recommends. They are all Christian, conservative candidates who want to restore RRISD to where it was 10 years ago which was a highly performing school district.

Even though I am in Collin County with no apparent dog in this hunt
It is chilling to see how far and how deep the insidious and pernicious ideology goes.

That can't be the main reason. Devoted leftist administrators are a dime a dozen. Finding one who isn't is much harder. Furthermore, Cory Vessa isn't a big leftist and still generally carries water for him (though to her credit, she at least didn't vote to blindly extend, so there is a line she's not willing to cross). It would be easy to kick his slimy *** to the curb and find another devoted leftist who doesn't impregnate and slap their mistresses around. I just can't help but suspect that he has knowledge of something corrupt or embarrassing about the board. That makes a lot more sense than just ideological loyalty.

Who knows. I was just guessing. What you suggest is reasonable. But no idea what that would be.

I'm guessing too. I can't say for sure. I just know that these schools boards typically have virtually no accountability. They're "nonpartisan," so very few voters know what anyone believes or what their agendas are. Candidates get votes based on name appeal and at most, meaningless slogans like, "because she cares." Furthermore, unless something really terrible is thrown in voters' faces, they're totally disengaged from it and make no effort.

And since school boards are usually dominated by insiders of the public school system, they're almost always well to the Left of the constituencies they represent. That means the media generally covers for them or is at a minimum, making little effort to find anything for which to hold them to account.

It's a toxic environment that obviously entrenches political leftism, but it also breeds the type of corruption that isn't based on ideology - kickbacks, nepotism/cronyism in handing out jobs and especially contracts, etc. If that stuff is going on in Round Rock ISD (and it almost surely is), Azaiez would know about it and who the crooks are.

One of the leftists has posters all over her advertisement is for Equity-Community-Transparency.

She is obviously all about transparency as she covers up for a violent criminal and adulterer and votes to pay him more money. He is Muslim so I guess it's okay for him to live out his culture.

I wonder how long until RRISD gets rid of grades for all of elementary like Leander ISD has done.

Ideologically Harrison is probably the worst member of that board.

Yes. However, I see more yard signs for her than any other school board candidate around. White guilt is a hell of a drug.

Think about who's most engaged in school board elections (and therefore most likely to have yard signs) - leftist teachers and administrators. They'll think someone like Harrison is great. She's obviously horrible, but it shows how far Round Rock has fallen. It used to be a conservative area, and even when it elected Democrats like Diana Maldonado, they put out a pretense of moderation. Now it elects people like Harrison and Talarico, who are proud leftists. It's really sad.

I just got my ballot and voted for all of these candidates. I also voted against the $770M bond initiative that Austin Community College District is asking for.

When in doubt, vote No on all local bonds. I'm not saying they're all bad, but probably 19 out of 20 are.

And those proposals are so deliberately badly worded you are not always sure if you voted for or against something

I don't notice that problem with bonds. I can usually tell if I'm voting yes or no. With bonds they exploit the ambiguity in describing what they're funding. Lots of vague language, and that's intentional. They'll also make a very long list of crap for one bond initiative to force you to fund 20 crappy things to fund 1 good thing. If you see a bond package like that, vote No.

This is a lie. Most school choice laws require the private school to accept the voucher as full and final payment of all tuition and fees. That is intended for no reason other than to make sure the program actually puts poor children into private schools rather than just helping rich people more easily pay for private schools.

I tried to comment on this idiot's post, but of course, he restricts comments. Dishonest handjob.

I heard an interview with Corey DeAngelis this week. He mentioned Texas as a state that is close to passing a school choice law. It has been defeated in past sessions, but Abbott started supporting the issue and others have followed suit.

Fund students not systems is his motto.
