Since we will be imbibing from the skulls of Sooners, let's add insult to injury by filling their craniums with a made-in-Texas product.

    Good points, however kind sir.

OU played UTEP, Kent State and Nebraska… weak teams and won. Slow clap.
-Played mediocre teams KSU at home and were dominated physically.
    -Played TCU and were embarrassed.

And now their QB1 appears to be out along with a starting DB on a confused OU secondary.
For crying out loud, if UT can’t beat OU… with these odds????

The good guys gave the #2 team in our land a scare- we outplayed them.
UT outmanned a team physically (WV) that I’d say is on somewhat om par with KSU…. Maybe even TCU.

If Texas plays ball like they did in the loss to Bama, UT wins by double digits.

I wasn’t tracking Trevor’s path to the Natty. I know he was awesome and it was hilarious to see the blue bloods get schooled by a frosh.

I use gin in place of vodka in a Moscow Mule, and finish with a grapefruit twist.
Martinis, classically done, not insanely dry. High quality Vermouth is required.
    Gin and Tonic.

Why is there a playoff thread for a 3-2 team with a propensity to collapse in the second half led by a second year coach who is following 15 years (minus one "we're back" year) of absolute garbage football?

We still have at least 2 more losses coming this year unless Sark finally does believe in all gas no brakes for 4 full quarters.

CFP with the expansion to 12... maybe. It would still take the same result as what we're all hoping for this year: a shot at the CCG.

Based on what I've watched, nearly any XII team is capable of beating any other team any given week. So honestly, I don't know why we're still seen as a favorite to make the CCG when I think TCU and KSU have a leg up on the competition level at this point in the season.

Here's my "no regard with head-to-head" rankings at this point:
    1. TCU
    2. OK State
    3. KSU
    4. Texas
    5. OU
    6. BU
    7. KU
    8. Tech
    9. ISU
    10. WVU

Yes, it's kind of insane. Yes, it has no bearing on conference record right now. Yes, it'll change a lot. When we lost in Lubbock, I believe we lost to the 8th best team in the conference, but that's the kind of thing that happens with parity.

I think this weekend will show that KU is a fraud, and honestly probably a step below Tech or ISU in the rankings.

You and I agree on many things...but i do not think we can say anything for sure Saturday afternoon if we win. I believe there are better teams than ou left on the slate.
Now, if we lose? Then yes, you'll have your answer.
And back to any post-win scenario....
There is no reason to get too excited about the team, Sark, or the program until we prove we can go play well and win on the road (at all first and then consistently).
Like many here, I'm a cautious believer at the moment....but there is much left to prove win or lose Saturday.

Beating the dirt burglars soundly would be a huge confidence boost to this team. If that happens I think they win the home games ( play much better at home), should beat Kansas on the road even with their resurgence. KSU on the road is a toss up. Okie aggy is a probable loss. 9-3 or 8-4 and the stage is set for next year. Lose to the dirt burglars all bets are off and the season could go south quickly.

There are both pessimists and very overly optimistic types here on HF.
I myself prefer to be categorized as a genuinely pragmatic and practical yet glass-half-full, rose colored spec-wearing realist.

Talent paired with potential does not equal winning football games. We have a very talented O line. They have great potential. As we all are painfully aware, they need a lot more growth in the areas of strength, experience and depth and cohesion. Five guys working skillfully together takes time.
The same could be said of our back seven, to a slightly lesser degree.

QEhas great talent. He will be a much better qb next year than he is now, if he stays healthy and plays this season. The game will slow down. Reads improve, defenses become predictable. Trust grows with receivers.

Card seems to improve each game he plays. Last year he was like a deer in the headlights. You can see him gaining self confidence and trust in receivers.
But neither is playing better now than the Dugger kid at Tcu or the Sanders kid at osu or the Martinez kid at ksu.
Some things just require experience. Talent and potential must be developed through experience.
This is why I didn’t pick the Horns to win the conference. These kids can and will be great. But also inconsistent. They will make their share of mistakes. But I have no doubt We will win more games this year than last.

Trever Lawrence was surrounded by great players: O line and receivers. Plus Clemson had a star studded defense. This is not the year we make the playoffs. Dammit I wish it was. But it’s coming.
    Bet on it.

Nimble , that’s key the current smart word.
What is funny to me is the people who usually say “we are nimble”, aren’t.
