Mona The CDC can not mandate covid vaxx or any vaxx. Only states can mandate what is required. So Abbott has nothing to denounce.
Mona is all about the latest Libertarian candidate, who will garner 3-4% of the vote. So he will bash Abbot when given the chance. To be fair Mona will bash BobFrank too.
Yes. But the states use the CDC list to base their mandates on. So we need to hear from the state about what they are going to do.
Not necessarily. I vote for Republicans too when they consistently promote freedom or state politicians who assert sovereignty in opposition to the Federal government. I would vote for DeSantis or Kari Lake any day. But it does no good to elect Republicans who are Democrat-lite. We either need to push Republicans further right and further radical or we need to support a different party. Right now Republicans take conservative votes for granted even when they are moderates. The Republican establishment is basically moderate leftists.
Mona Since it is the state lege who sets the requirments, not the Gov. And the lege isn't in session Maybe we should be more concerned about voting to ensure the Repubs stay in the majority on Nov 8.
Abbott shut down businesses, schools, and churches down for months. He only lifted the shut downs after he saw several other governors do so. He also keeps extending his emergency status so he can do it again if he wants to. Trust in him is misplaced. Of course I prefer him to Francine who is a Marxist and a loser. But I want better for Texas. Can't the Republicans run someone better than squishy soft Abbott?
Actually it was one month. March 19, 2020 he ordered complete shutdown April 17 2020 he began to reopen things. In retrospect perhaps he shouldn't have done it at all. But as reality and facts became known he did open things up
Every politician was a moron for going along with business closures that were picked and chosen as to what was "essential". Home Depot, not the local hardware. Ludicrous.
I don't recall Texas being shut down "for months" and saw plenty of things locally that were fully operational in a very short period of time. As to the extension of the EO, I believe some of that is to keep Counties from trying to go rogue. I suspect that it largely goes away post-election, especially after many of the idiots at the County level are swept out of office.
Yep...Dora...GONE! No seeing many of her signs, even in the libtile parts of Houston...and seeing LOTS of Alex signs in some of those same areas.
Those who locked down schools should pay a massive, long term political price, and they should never be trusted to set education policy again. Link.
National Propaganda Radio. As I wrote: The coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China, couldn't possibly have come from the coronavirus research lab in Wuhan, China, and to say otherwise is a wild conspiracy theory, which no less that Polifact called a Pants on Fire lie. The misinformation is what comes from the leftist media, which is 95% of all media outlets.
The Republican wave in 1994 promised to defund NPR, but never did anything about when in power. One of the many reasons I don't trust Republicans.
We were full of crap about virtually everything and shamed, demonized, and censored people who called us on it, but you just have to let some **** slide and declare a "COVID amnesty." Link. No. Here's the problem. I could go along if people had made good faith errors and had been open to discussion when legitimate questions were asked. But that isn't what happened. People were subject to massive shaming. People lost their jobs wrongly. Government colluded with tech companies to have people's basic free speech rights violated. Furthermore, a destructive agenda was forced long after it became clear that it was the wrong thing to do. You don't give amnesty for stuff like that.
But it's a virtue signaling opportunity. You get to post a picture of your kid getting vaccinated on Facebook. Makes you look righteous in progressive circles.
I'm not for true vigilantism, but if any laws were violated, people should get sued or thrown in the slammer as appropriate.
Mr D My niece is EXACTLY who you referenced. On FB She posted a pic of her 2.5yo daughter getting jabbed. And got tons of how wonderful and caring replies. She is a Pediatric Surgeon at Boston Gen. How could she not do more research? I did not reply.
Because it's not about doing the right thing for your kid. It's about looking righteous for others. It is a largely self-centered thing to do, especially if you're posting it on social media. The well-being of the child is at most secondary. Frankly, I think not doing research is part of the equation. It looks better if you do it on faith. Keep in mind that this isn't science. It's ideology.
