Ewers can look around all he wants but he can't be eligible at another FBS school barring some miracle exception by the NCAA. He wants to go play at Montana State or wherever FCS best of luck to him.

Two schools is really the limit?

Seriously? "Wherever" clearly implies no such limit. Hopefully just a really poor attempt at sarcasm.

If you acted like a choo-choo train instead of a grumpy old man, I would do that. People like choo-choo trains.

Believe DKR said it was easy to gamble with somebody else’s money.

This is Sark’s choice and his money.

No, it is his money. He gets paid to make those decisions.

    Who pays him?

Does it matter? The key is HE IS PAID to make those decisions. When you are paid to do a job, is it still the payee's money when the money is in your bank account?

Indeed, but if he doesn't listen to the "suggestions" of those helping with those payments, he'll find himself negotiating a settlement. (See also Tom Herman)

I hear you and what you say.^^^ He has been on the field and in the room with top notch coaches and players. But nothing other than intense practices and then in game playing time can provide the experience that Ewers needs. And I am not saying he should be getting all the playing time. Remember Sam E was really raw as a freshman, prone to interceptions and fumbles too. Also he was unable to read defenses, see blitzes, and go through his progressions.

I think Ewers earned the starting job. BUT, having said that, I think Ewers should have been pulled and Card put in to start the second half of both osu and tcu. Card would have given us a better chance to win both games, imo. Playing Card would have given TCU's defense the problem of a QB with a slightly different passing skill set and one who can seriously scramble may have given us 7 to 10 more points in the second half and that's all we needed.

What settlement is there to negotiate on a guaranteed contract?

Herman and Strong both walked with their full payouts, no?

Sark not coaching him up makes no sense. It's in Sark's best interest to improve the kid. I don't know Ewers or his dad so I've got nothing. Maybe they are pissed that we recruited Manning. Either way, if he's unhappy at Texas it's his prerogative to move on. I'd pat him on the back, thank him for his service, wish him well. No hard feelings.

OK, are you saying that he should listen to the "suggestions" of posters on this board, than I disagree.
That kind of Jerry Jones interference gets you the same kind of coaches and results that the Cowboy's have had.

    Old ???
No one is saying anything about any employee of Texas listening to any poster on any board. Where is that coming from?
Yes You are right. Sark is Paid to make decisions. The money to pay him comes from Texas.

I thought it came from you. Many posters are “suggesting” the Satk should start Card over Ewers. My point is the Sark is paid to mKe that decision. He has info we do not have because he has weeks of If his decisions are

You said that it is his money it’s Texas. I disagree, the SOURCE of that money is Texas
Athletic dept but when it hits I back acct it is his, not Texas. The rest are just spin and tangents.

MY OPINION IS IT FOES NOT MATTER WHAT WE THINK WHO SHOULD START, WE PAY SARK TO MAKE THST DECISION AND WE SHOULD SUPPORT THAT DECISION AND STOP SNIPPING.

    Emphasis on "was", of course.

I think where he is now is a very different endpoint from what his trajectory out of HS indicated. The Ohio State experiment didn't pan out - oh, well, move on, it happens. But the way he looked vs. Bama before getting hurt? The way he played against an under powered OU squad, still impressed..all pointed to a kid that was right where he should have been. But hind sight is 20/20.

If the rumor is true then Sark is a ******* fool and his failure at UT is foretold.
I would not be surprised at a all if Sark’s stubborn insistence on Ewers is him making good on a promise he made. For better or worse.
But if Ewers is unhappy and thinking about leaving then Sark made a losing bet on a single 19 year old kid. The annals of college football are littered with stories about 18. - 19 year old busts. And In Ewers case A 19 year old kid who has yet to demonstrate he has any of the same loyalty to reciprocate.

    IF true. Allegedly supposedly.

also I want to be clear that Ewers may have some character. Its just not evident from his football career so far. IMO

Does all the NIL money invested in Ewers play a role in his playing time?
Would Sonic, Aston Martin, Wrangler, or Lucchese get pissed if he is benched?

Unfortunately, those brands already wasted their money. But I hear Barber shops are doing well in Texas, now that mullets are being cut off.

The reasons that Sark isn't benching QE when QE is holding the team back and losing : A). Sark is a fool or stupid. B). He has been told to not bench QE.
C). Sark doesn't think he can get canned for losing games. D). worried about what the Manning's will think. E). all of the above.

    F) As poor as he plays sometimes, he really is the best QB on the team and gives us the best chance to win

Manning must be licking his chops everytime he sees QE play, and Murphy too.
I haven't given up on QE for next year. Maybe the light comes back on.
I just don't understand Sark. Why is he not pulling QE when he continually screws up. Or does he blame the receivers? whoever screws up get him out.

I saw Card play pretty damn good against Bama, Tech and West Virginia.
With 25 seconds to go he got us in field goal range to tie Tech up. Not many QB’s can do that.
    Plus the kid can run.

Why does everyone think Manning will be so good? Last name? HS highlight reel? So what? Ewers had a good HS reel didn't he?

With three NFL hall of fame QB's in the family tree and his dad was on track to be an All American receiver before he gave up football after an injury I'd say things lean in his favor. I mean, he could very well be a bust, but there is something in their blood.

He could be the next Peyton/Colt, he could be the next Garrett Gilbert/Haynes King. Only time will tell, but no one knows at this point.

Why do we have to overhype every QB recruit and create unrealistic expectations?
