    Let's see consistent play at the level we showed against the Zags. Then I'll be on board.

    This feels premature.

    I totally agree. However, the team showed what they are capable of doing & it is mighty impressive. I believe it helped that the Moody Ctr was ROCKIN' like I never saw in the Drum. Cudos to those who got that done & to the students who suited up, showed up & ripped the lid off the joint. It's quite possible that Texas is becoming a basketball school too (even though dickie v. once said that we would NEVER be one).

    At this point in the season every poll is premature. Texas' win against the Zags is the best win of the season, early in the season as it is.
    But if teams are gonna be ranked now, and they are, then no one deserves to be ranked # 1 more than Texas.

    Go Horns!! :hookem3::coolnana::coolnana:

    Mark Few, Zags coach, had this to say about our Horns: "[Texas is] a really, really, really good team," Few said. "They're old. Their guards (Marcus Carr and Tyrese Hunter] are terrific. They can both handle it. It's always great when you have two point guards like that who can shoot. They're athletic enough to switch ball screens. And so, yeah, they're the real deal."
    Anytime Few uses 3 "reallys" to describe a team, he means what he says. Horns are playing in a conference that has the Kansas (defending NCAA Champs), Baylor, and the Horns, all three are contenders to win the NCAA title.

    In 2015 I remember watching Texas beat UNC with a last second shot. There was a lot of discussion that Texas was on the way. I think we ended up with 13 losses. The Texas team that beat zaga is much better and highly ranked. I'm saying that for me, I need a bigger portfolio before I'll think we're that good. I've been slapped down too many times to get my hopes up. Notre Dame football game anyone?

    All early season rankings are "premature" by nature. I for one believe this is a top 5 team but we'll see over the next few games with Creighton and Illinois coming up.

    Early as it is, kinda fun to see the Horns whip a good team and get some recognition for it

    Virginia is currently spanking that Baylor *** in the 2nd half. Up by 18.

    EDIT
    Whoops. Now up by 13. I'm going to hate myself if I sparked a BU comeback.

    Well, I suppose nobody should use the "We're a football school" excuse for any so-so basketball results...

    Possibly the New World Order power rankings too, but I am not allowed to discuss that.

    What I’m saying is, basketball-wise, we’re way up there on a planetary basis but we can’t say for sure if China is included in the analysis or even Senegal and Indonesia, so it may not be a perfectly complete representation of global basketball power since that seems to be what we are discussing.
