In 2020, Phillips sophomore year she was behind O'Neal and Butler on the depth chart at MB. Fields was penciled in at opposite (where she played as a freshman) with Parra set to take over for departing Micaya White. Fields started hitting for incredible numbers when moved to the left. Phillips had been used as a blocking sub on the right for the later part of her freshman year, so the switch was made to get Fields more efficient hitting numbers and convert Phillips to an opposite. This year would have been the year for her to go back except for the fact Elliott hit the transfer portal and loaded up on experienced middles.
Tempest…..thanks for the comments. It’s also a reminder to me that it’s kinda futile to guess what Elliot is thinking. Especially with the portal. He embraced it and so I imagine we might see several leave and several transfer in.
Early start at West Virginia today (1:00). I assumed it would be broadcast on ESPN+ but unless I’m overlooking it, not the case.

Texas takes first two sets from Fairleigh Dickinson in first round of NCAA Tournament. 25-6 and 25-13.
Funniest moment that was not so funny to Zoe and then it was. Late in 3rd set she mishandled a serve receive and Saige jumped up at the net to set it but couldn’t reach it and it hit the top of the net and splattered over for a Kill. Zoe was not happy with herself and there was a timeout called and they all had a good time on the sideline including Zoe for getting a Kill.
On TV it looked like it didn't even touch the net. It looked more like the FD girls expected us to set the ball and were caught completely flat-footed when it came to their side instead.
