Why would you be a "friend" of someone who is trashing the very program you've been putting so much hard work into?

Well I’m glad everyone in here is on the same page as far as chevalier goes. Once we demolish Tech and Rori goes off hopefully that will let Chevalier know that she’s not better than Rori and she can move on.

I stopped paying attention to, and ignoring AC when someone mentioned that she was on her Instagram stories singing along to a song or something like that, which was basically saying that she was going to tell on Vic. Why would you be making a mockery out of things that were supposedly being said or done to you that were very harmful and traumatic.

Although I do agree with what she said in the video that @Born in ATX posted, about coaches needing to encourage and emphasize athletes seeing and talking to their their therapist as much as they do about getting in the gym. I also think that these schools should be hiring Black therapist who look like, and have gone through the same experiences that the majority of the athletes at these schools have.

I say all this to say, that I wouldn't want to be a coach in today's environment. I would be walking on egg shells constantly wondering and worried about if I said or done something to an athlete that may get construed in a way that would ultimately end up with me being fired and my name tarnished.

All these transfers and parting shots get me confused. I want to "Trust in Vic", but at the same time I see parting shots and mention of mental health. And at the same time for those suddenly transferred you see them either on the court or on social media smiling and joking happily with their teammates 2 or 3 days before news of them appearing in the portal.

What bothers me is that we see a sudden exodus of players or cryptically bitter social media comments out of a disgruntled player. Later on you find that this disgruntled player took their unhappiness to other schools (plural) and so it was them. Or, you see a school's program implode with the sudden firing of a coach and you say, "Aha, where there was smoke there was fire".

All I've seen of Vic and his staff is that they are tough coaches who coach hard, but also love their players. But these days we learn that many times smiles hide the tears. Not saying Texas WBB has a problem. I'm just a bit troubled.

Vic’s coached a long time and NOTHING. Why would you be troubled re Chevalier? She’s on record saying how happy she was at UT just before she suddenly wasn’t…. SHE said she has a chemical imbalance in her brain. How is that Vic’s fault? She got beat out and didn’t like it. To even put stuff like ‘troubled” on OUR message board gives credence to her ridiculous blame game.

If people aren't intelligent or insightful enough to see through these disgruntled players' bullsh*t, then they need to believe whatever they believe.

ISU's Stephanie Soares motivated to excel in her only season in Ames

What an awesome write up on Stephanie Soares of Iowa State. With all her connections to Texas, her mother playing for Texas, her coach - Clarissa Davis-Wrightsil, you'd think she'd be a Longhorn. Nevertheless, she's changing the game on both ends of the court for Iowa State.

Why are people still bringing up AC? Good lord man , let it drop. Five years from now , no one will know who AC was. But will remember that this was one of Vic's best coaching years as he guides UT to a final four. :smile1:

I was perusing other team’s results and decided to check on one of our favorites. Audrey Warren. She transferred to Georgia this off season for her last year. Georgia is 6-0 although against mostly pedestrian competition. She’s started all 6 games. Averaging 6,5 points per game and shooting 25% from BTA. Good for her to have a nice last year/

I'd be more interested in how many fouls she has drawn on the opposition. Audrey was always more impactful on defense than offense for us. I am curious how that defensive intensity has translated to a different program.

During the UConn game there was a point where one of their players received a ball, turned around and started quickly going up the court. At that point I said to myself, "Audrey would have run up to her and planted herself in front of her to get run over". And then I realized that no where in that game did I see that level of defensive sacrifice. On one hand, I also realized that it might have resulted in yet another head injury. But on the other hand, I miss Audrey's tenacity.

The team misses her tenacity and sacrifice. I don’t miss the cringeworthy plays as was always scared she wouldn’t get up. But she always did.

Latasha Lattimore went down with a right leg injury in Miami’s game against Michigan and was in a leg brace after the game. Return date unknown. Hate to hear it. I can’t remember which knee she injured prior to coming to Texas

Looks like we dodged one here. I remember folks on the Mississippi State message board saying, in addition to the issues last year, she was a problem during the season under Nikki McCray-Penson. There was also mention that Vic had to deal with her accordingly the one season he coached her.
