It sure is pleasant to be looking forward for a change, instead of agonizing over the past at the Atlantis tournament. After Vic's hopeful post-game comments, it would really surprise me if Rori was not ready to go, although she would only have a few days practice before Sunday's game.

Texas beat Princeton in Princeton last season 70-53 on December 22, improving to 9-1. The Tigers shot 28.8 percent (19-of-66) from the field.

Rori had 15 points in 30 minutes on 6-of-8 shooting and led the team with seven rebounds. She also had a team-high 3 steals and two assists.

I'd gladly take 10 points in 20 minutes of play on Sunday. Her court presence, in itself, will really change the character of this team.

What I remember from last year's team was of a happy AC mugging for the cameras with the team, all happy and celebrating and quitting the team a few days later. Also, Princeton plays in a funky 70's type domed stadium. Oh and we were 8-1 going into the game and really, really confident that we could handle them because the first 9 games showed us some incredible new players.

Anyone interested in attending the game for free? I won’t be able to make it to Austin and have 2 season tickets I’d give away if you promise to make use of them. Very good seats.

I'm excited to see how we look with our facilitator back in the lineup against another well-coached team. Hopefully Shalee and Sonya can relax some and concentrate on their scoring opportunities and defensive assignments off the ball. Our turnovers SHOULD reduce drastically, and I'd really like to see us get Amo and Taylor established inside early in the game. We need the skills Taylor brings to the game, and the importance of Amo's role goes without saying. Let's get better at knocking down those free throws as well.

The defense looks so much better so far, minus Gaston overplaying. Rori on the court calms everyone down. Once she gets a lil more comfy this team is gonna be rolling.

We aren’t losing another game in nonconference.

They’ll improve as the game goes on I would think. Defense is looking good

So much for the turnovers being reduced. You can tell that the perimeter players new to the team still aren't 100 percent sure of the offense they're running (reading defense, etc). It will come eventually.

What really has me irritated is that Jones is working hard for good position on the block, but we're not getting her the ball.

Who's sitting in warmup gear at end of the bench next to Zach Zillner. Not listed in program.

We're playing great D. But at the end of lots of these possessions, there has been an open shot. Fortunately they are having a bad day shooting. Need to clean that up.

The silver haired ref seems to have a major vendetta against Texas
(He also seems at odds with the other refs during a timeout I noticed). He sucks!

Muhammed and Moore were meant for the weave offense, Gonzalez not so much.

Still a lot to clean up... aside from our looking good at Stanford and A&M early last season, at this point we look about like we did the past two before we got our act together. As with those previous two seasons, once again we're dealing with new roster additions getting acclimated to the system.

It'll probably be a bumpy road for awhile, but hopefully we'll get the ship right and finish strong again. I'll be glad when we finally reach a season where we will have had more continuity on our roster.

I was a the game and the energy level was "low", it's just that Princeton plays such a slow game that our slowness was masked. Disappointing that an experienced guard like Shaylee can lose the ball while dribbling, multiple times. Jaq seemed confused as to her assignment a couple of times. We're 3-3 with 2 exhibition games under our belt but the play of the team seemed to be pre-season. Yeah, bit of a debbie-downer; I can hope it gets better with more Rori-minutes.

Mwenentanda is good in that offense also, she is just not finishing well at this point. She'll get better at that.

Did anyone see the jersey retirement ceremony for Annette Smith? From what they showed at halftime she appeared to be struggling. Is there some sort of health-related issue? She is my all-time favorite UT athlete of any sport.

Yup. But don't want to throw out any conjecture as it wouldn't be fair to her.

It was interesting to hear Ford yelling "give me the ball!" many times. We could hear it from the opposite end. She did have a back issue and had an ice pack on it at the end of the game. My memory might not be great but she is a big inside presence we haven't had for a while. She keeps the ball high in the air, doesn't try to dribble, and passes out if she's double or triple covered.
