Sounds like Soares will definitely make them better. However, it looks like Mich. St. finished 15-15 last season (8-9 in conf). Didn't qualify for post-season play. They have no all-conf. players and aren't picked to finish in the top 1/2 of the BIG10. The combined records of their opponents before Iowa St was only 9-21 (and these are all creampuffs). So that 6-0 mark for Mich St. was a bit misleading. It looks like Mich. St. started 4 guards (all 5-10 and under) plus a 6-3 F. They were clearly overmatched. Iowa St. plays #8 N. Car. on Sunday @ 6:30 pm, #9 Iowa on 12/7, and #23 Villanova on 12/18. Will be interested to see how those games go, because the rest of their schedule is a complete joke.
