I think that would mean Worthy is responsible for our 4 losses. There was enough suckage to go around, not just Worthy.

Yeah it’s like the Twilight Zone in here lol. Some don’t think we coulda won two more games, some blame Worthy, others think Lincoln got lucky. I have no idea if he stays, but hope he does.

    LC,

I thought it was multiple choice with #1 being playing behind the USC OL & #2 being playing behind the Horns OL.

Unhappy players (for good reasons or none) are like turf toe. Not serious enough to be excised, but annoying and infectious enough to be more trouble than they’re worth. Worthy has been borderline non commital since the Michigan/Texas flip. Nobody, period, is ever as open as they think they are and no player has ever said ‘enough’ passes or touches for me. Going back home is understandable and, frankly, probably better for all than pouting and negatively affecting locker room. He is good, but not Larry Fitzgerald or Shipley good. He can get to be great with the right attitude or a pariah with a bad one. Texas finally seems to be getting team chemistry straightened out, post Herman. Lets not relapse over anybody’s ego.

seems like we got guys here who can't see what's right in front of them. it's alright though. It is possible Sark could become a better coach in the future.

Sark was the best OC in the country when he had Alabama’s players. Kind of like Phil Jackson being the greatest head coach ever with Jordan and company on the team. LR might be a better coach, but hard to compare with different situations.

Theo,Have you compared the overall record of the two coaches? I am speaking of being a head coach.

No because I don’t think it matters. I’m not saying Sark is better or worse. I’m saying it is dumb to compare LR at USC this year to Sark this year. Plus USC’s schedule was pretty weak in my opinion this year. There best win is Notre Dame who lost to Marshall and Stanford. SC only loss is Utah.

If we beat Utah, can we say Sark is better? I think not.

LR overall head coaching job at OU and Usc are superior to Sarks head coaching career. Can you compare Saban to Jimbo? Coaches can be compared by their overall record. My point is,I can see how a player would rather play for LR because he has a proven record as a winner. I dont know what type of person he is but he owned Texas, while at OU.That is usually how we rate coaches is by their record.

all you have to look at is how Sark handled the Ewers problem. He should have been pulled.
plus Riley's record is much, much better. Granted, Riley stepped into a better situation, but Riley was selected because he was a no Brainer choice and he has kept momentum going.
I cant stand the guy but give the guy credit.

USC IS WELL ON THE WAY TO BEING A JUGGERNAUT for many years to come. All we can do is try to keep up.
maybe we will have another marquis match up like 2005.

Name off those catchable balls that cost us. I can think of one. Or are we being speculative with balls that ultimately fell not all that close to him.

As I stated earlier, he knows how to use the portal. His years as head coach:
    2017 - Heisman QB portal
    2018- Heisman QB portal
2019 - national champion qb portal
    2020 - Rattler
2021 - Current QB at SC who will win the Heisman
    2022 - probably Heisman winner

Y’all keep slobbering over LR. I’ll wait and see how Sark turns out at Texas.

Maybe. But credible sources not known to make stuff up reported that two high profile players were on the fence about portaling in the spring or summer. Apparently being aggressively pursued. Those players were Worthy & Baron. So most believe that the speculation about Worthy now has merit, and precedent.

Theo-Not slobbering over him;just stating that he is an elite coach. Facts are facts. I hope Sark is successful here and do not want him to leave. Gotta admit,he is doing pretty well with his QBs. Sark wasn't too great with Qe this year. Yeah I know,OL,Qe is a freshman and all the rest of the excuses. Lets just hope next year Sark can develop him. Afterall isnt Sark the guru of developing QBs.

It’s impossible to argue with LR’s track record, although I would say that Mayfield (over Lamar Jackson) in 2017 was a bit absurd. Jackson was a transcendent one man show and he didn’t have the same level of talent around him. Also, the projection of Rattler is odd. The player did not live up to expectations — at OU — and was replaced. So if he were to win a Heisman at SC, should Riley be given credit for developing him?

Speaking of the Heisman, let’s see who wins it over the next 4 years. I wouldn’t be shocked to see one or two that wear burnt orange. Yes, I did say that.

oh no way can we blame the o-line for QE's woeful play. all QBs have problems with the rush/blitz and no one is perfect. But he had many unforced errors.
I thought the o-line played well this year, better than expected. We just need c Mccoy here to teach timing and quick release.
Mccoy was a master at that.
I do like the way Ewers throws guys open. When he is accurate that is fun to watch. that can be tricky sometimes.

Ewers and Arch. One… Not that far fetched.

People are beating Ewers up for his performance against Baylor but I just don’t understand. I rewatched the game and on the two plays that are the basis for most of the criticism, the dude had NO chance. I challenge anyone to watch those plays and tell me that Card, or even McCoy (as in Colt) would have been able to avoid those rushes.

    Let's see.
Sark's first head coaching job was taking over an 0-12 Washington team.
Riley's first was an 11-2 OU conference champion ranked 5th nationally.

Sarks second was a USC team at 10-4 that he admittedly crashed due to personal problems.
Then took ove a Texas program that went 7-3 and was in total disarray.

Riley takes over a 4-8 USC program but basically brings his entire 12-2 OU program with him.

You can't compare the two coaching paths.
Riley is your silver spoon kid while Sark has been working his way up.

I didn’t mean to suggest this at all.
    It was a group effort.

I just meant that our losses were so close that a catch here or there might have made a difference. Then again… maybe not.
