IT reporting that sources tell them Bijan, RoJo and Overshown will not participate in the Alamo Bowl.

I like to see Brooks play but would like to see Bijan and Rojo for a quarter each.

I guess that's what happens when you blow a couple of easily winnable games due to coaching stupidity and end up in a meaningless bowl game.

Is it confirmed they aren’t participating? Saw the tentative report but now that workouts have started we should be able to get a complete update.

QB pressures are irrelevant if we leave the middle open for a dump pass.

I know that I am old school, and that these are fine young men, but I cannot condone this type of action, if true. It goes against big team little me. They won and lost as a team and bailing on the team is not my idea of character. Again, I don’t mean to damn them bur cannot support these actions. Too old to change.

Even though it is Their decision I bet they are getting tons of outside pressure from agents and hanger_ons to not risk millions on one game.
Kinda ironic since playing is why they are about to get those millions.

They simply are protecting against an injury and financial future. I get that.I have no problem with Bijan, Rojo or Overshown skipping the Alamo bowl, they all earned the right, they have nothing left to prove collegiately. I thank them all for giving UT their all and being a good student off campus too.

Yeah well in my humble opinion there is honor and integrity. I don’t care if they only played a half, or heck even a qtr I’d understand. And yes I do know that anyone can get hurt on just one play but heck, the university gave them a lot too.
Just to be clear I have been a huge fan of Bijan and recognize both he and Rojo as special and tremendous individuals. I just think it’s right they should play.

Buy a multi-million one game insurance policy and everybody wins but the agents? Spend some of that cash from NIL (UT).

Chin,I like you am old school and dont agree with these young men not playing in a bowl game. It is all about the me generation. That is why it is always inspiring to see the army-Navy game and see young men lay it all out for honor. They dont play for money but for pride and their teammates . I would hope Sark would tell them to stay home and not attend the game to stand on the sideline. If they cant play for their teammates then they are not part of the team anymore.

I understand the aspect of “lose $$” potential but given what I’ve seen in Bijan, his holding out surprises me. Truly.

I’m not surprised on Bijan, but I am for Roschon and Overshown. To me, they both have upside with a great performance in a bowl. Regardless, I don’t blame them because an injury in a meaninglessness game could end it all. All three are great competitors and fine young men who represented the university well.:hookem:

The NCAA should declare bowl games free of ruining eligibility. Let players like Malik play the game to showcase next year’s talent.

It’s already there. Players can play 4 games in a season without impacting eligibility.

For me Roschon is already a definite day 2 pick with no real chance at day 1. He's doing the smart thing

Might be, but someone will get a steal whenever RJ is selected. The intangibles he brings to a team are impressive.

The way RBs are prioritized, he's Day 3 at best. I don't think anyone really views him (including the University of Texas) as anything more than a share-the-load kind of guy. He doesn't have Tony Pollard's speed, and that kind of "15 touches" back doesn't go high enough. It'll be whoever needs a #3 to motivate a #2 after Round 4.

I love his intangibles and I think he'll prove himself in practices and special teams.
