But that is very insulting for senior enlisted in our military.
Even if it is meant only to be humorous.

 

The guys on the page (all of whom were military) thought it was funny. They viewed it as a good natured joke.

Were they all officers?
Any Officer worth his rank will tell you without senior enlisted they would be sunk. Certainly found that to be true.
In my long long military family there has been only one enlisted person. A great uncle who embodied what a Marine was during WWII. Even he would not have fit that pic
Not a big deal, just IMO is disrespectful.

 

No, it was a mix of guys of various backgrounds and ranks. They took it as a joke, and none were offended, because it's not really a bad thing. (If anyone had been offended, I wouldn't have posted it here.) Furthermore, there's an element of truth to it.

And you're right that officers will admit that they'd be screwed without the enlisted. My grandfather who was a captain in the Navy confirmed this. I'm a fan of the enlisted.

 

My Dad says hey, or would if he were still with us. Man he loved the military life. Miss you Dad!

Speaking of senior enlisted, I had the honor of helping to bury a retired E-9 recently. USAF Command Chief Master Sergeant. His family had some pretty awesome stories to tell.
