Not a big NFL guy, but was he the problem? I thought he was pretty good :idk:

There were too many occasions where play calling was suspect. Too many games where the offense sputtered, including several to end the season.

Someone will pick him easier than defenses plucking a Dak interception. But it needs to be the right situation...

I think the biggest factor is how they missed their window. It's going to be year 8 of Dak in 2023. The defense has shown enough improvement (sans the CB injuries this year) to keep them in the hunt. But the offense runs up its numbers against inferior opponents and folds like a card table against decent teams.

And regarding the relationship between Dak and Kellen... Dak has gotten worse. And it's not a case of Matt Ryan getting old or Carson Wentz getting the yips. Blame it on his nagging injuries or whatever, but a change needed to be made.

I guess Jerry needed a fall guy for Dak.

To answer the question, no, he wasn’t the problem. Someone will benefit to get him.

i don't think he's "the problem" but they need to figure out a way to get Dak more consistent. they need a "solution" to help Dak. Kellen did a pretty good (not awesome) job with playcalling. maybe they need to bring who will help dak more

That’s my feeling ‘X’. Kellen doesn’t throw the football.

Yes. Kellen is totally to blame for Prescott's huge and undeserved salary. It is his fault that Prescott leaves his brain in the locker room and plays like an eighth grader.

Moore's handling of Zeke is even worse. If you watched Cowboy games then you know that Kellen didn't get the message across to opponents that they could not touch Elliott much less tackle him. Those plays were to be for Pollard.

Two grossly overpaid yet unproductive super stars fall at the feet of Kellen Moore, who has to be the one responsible for those contracts since Jerrah is definitely too smart to ever allow contracts like those.

Jerrah is the biggest problem. They have been doomed for years and will continue to go from bad to worse.
    Write’em off and move on.

This! Exactly why I don't watch the Cowboys any longer. I grew up a diehard Cowboys fan and Jerry ruined it for me.

Be nice. It keeps him away from the family's real source of income. Unfortunately Bob believed that he couldn't "screw up an NFL franchise". Bob was wrong.

IF they hire Ryans as new HC, teh players, the former players, and lots of ticket holders will back him, which won't sit well with the egomaniacal GM, who is better suited to driving a truck for Jeff Bezos

Saw a stat the other day...
Need to check it to be sure but as I recall it was..
No NFL quarterback has ever taken his team to the SuperBowl for the first time after 7years starting for a team.

For one team, sure. Rich Gannon was like 60 years old and on steroids when he took the Raiders to the Super Bowl in 2002. And won the league MVP that year.

But you're right that there's virtually no chance Dak can do it in Dallas. If I'm Jerry or Stephen, I'm looking back at those QB trade situations of the past couple years (Wilson, Watson, Stafford) and see how that could play out and what they could get for Dak. If 2023 doesn't work out, his cap hit for a new team goes down and they might be able to swing a mid first-rounder.

I think Jerrah (& possibly Stephan) is trying to figure out how he can make more $ off the Cowboy brand...possibly selling Cowboy sex toys in the ladies' lingerie stores in Jerrah World.

    This, this, this.

That turd in the front office pays lip service to wanting to win, but nobody ever pins him down about what he considers a win. For him, if he can keep the suckers buying merchandise and enhancing the value of the franchise, he's the winner. He doesn't give two squirts of **** about actually providing a winning franchise for the fans, he cares about the drama and all that crap that keeps the suckers coming back for more.

Jerry believes it was his genius managing of the socks and jocks that led to Cowboys 3 SuperBowls.

He does. His ego can't stand the notion that Jimmy was the architect, and he was just the guy signing contracts and checks.

Hired Brian Schottenheimer for the role:
Cowboys name Brian Schottenheimer as new OC

It's a textbook "we need a guy to fill the position but since Mike's going to be doing the offense he's just a placeholder" kind of hire. He has zero notable achievements for any of the offenses he's worked with. His offenses with the Jets and Rams were notoriously bad, ranking in the bottom 10 of the league for most of the time he was with them.

I think one thing he worked hard with Pete Carroll in Seattle is ball protection, so that's probably a huge determining factor with getting Dak back under control.

Two things people might know him for:
    1. Being Urban Meyer's whipping boy for that partial year in Jax.
    2. When Mark Richt was bailing on UGA in 2015, Brian took a lot of the blame for their PoS offense.

I can just imagine the interview.

Jerrah: "Repeat after me - 'Yes, Sir'"

"Now say it five times as fast as possible. I want you to practice saying that so at the first practice you will have doubled the number of times you can say it."

"Remember that 'what the f**k' gets you immediately terminated"
