There needs to be a clarification in there. That means out of the top 25. Back the 1960s, the AP Poll only went to 20 in 1960, 1968, and 1969 and 10 in other years of the decade. Texas with Royal started in the top six and dropped out three times - 1960, 1965, and 1967. But you'll note, that only means out of the top 20 once and out of the top 10 twice. The 1960 squad most certainly would have been ranked had the AP Poll gone to 25 because they finished 17th in the Coaches Poll at 7-3-1.

That's enough to break the three times, but the 1965 and 1967 squads also have a decent argument at finishing in the top 25. They both finished 6-4, which may translate to a modern day 8-5. You'll see the 2022 Horns are ranked #25 at 8-5 in this year's final AP Poll.

    Born,

Ease up on the Aggies. They have cheated one way for decades, and old ways die hard. The Aggies have been very good at cheating, and with God's help, they avoided the death penalty. Legalized cheating is still a foreign concept to them. Give them a few decades and they'll catch up.

A regular, but very appropriate way to summarize: aggy gonna aggy. That’s what they do.

    Damn good at it, too.

Per the script, the mean ol' sips are the root of their problems. Because the NCAA is the sips. But according to one poster, they're taking it all the way to the SCOTUS, there are no sips there.

Little do they know we sorted all this out with scotus last weekend at Bohemian Grove. Right before we sacrificed a virgin aggy and drank her blood.

I think it was the co-mingling of virgin aggy & chicken blood that left the acrid after taste. Someone forgot to add the appropriate amount of aggy tears to sweeten the mix. The mixologist ****** up on the recipe.

Considering the underhanded (and likely illegal) reasons for creating the PUF as well as Aggies history and expertise in cheating, there are so many lines that come to mind that I can't choose one of the top fifty.

Aggies chose ‘rich Brazos River farm land’ so they could practice plowing. UT chose land, far less expensive (got 30X the land for same value) to build a planet/star observatory. So, now, plow plow plow Jim Bob.

    68,

While I think your post is likely intended sarcasm, The University was gifted fertile Coastal Bend farm land, which would later be STOLEN by the legislature to help offset the state's economic problems.

Ahhh From GameDay news. on a list of Heisman Trophy winners who were disappointments in NFL.
Heisman Trophy Winners Who Were Disappointments In The NFL - Gameday News
    Johnny Manziel
The Browns traded up to the 22nd slot to draft for the 2011 Heisman winner. “Johnny Football” was expected to breathe life into a disgruntled Cleveland franchise. Instead, Manziel’s career was nothing more than some on-field moments as well as off-field drama.
His sophomore season was wasted following a stint in rehab in 2015. The Browns would move on from the quarterback as Manziel spent two years away from football. In 2018, he joined the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats before being traded to the Alouettes during the season.
