I would vote for Chop for baseball. Saberhorn for football. Basketball? Volleyball? I want to be educmated.
The group I met with at that Grapevine restaurant… sorry Worster I don’t recall the name of the place.
Attractive ladies for baseball. Attractive ladies for football. Basketball? Attractive ladies. Volleyball? Attractive ladies.
Just throwing this out for further review…. Texas Live in Arlington has a huge sports bar w a larger TV…. Maybe we could reserve a table for a game?
I’ve probably sat next to some of you and didn’t know it. That said, I recommend watching the games alone
Football: Billy Dale, Mattress Mack or Sangre ( I sat with Sabre at the last ou game -- he is allsome too!). BB: Kevin Durant or Tom Penders. Baseball: Chop or Roger Clemmens
For me: Football - whichever of you dudes have the best seats. I’d like to have CDCs ear though too. Sabre would be an interesting choice in part to see if the persona in my mind matches the actuality.
I would be tickled to sit by any of you, or any athlete (past or present) reppin the burnt orange, at a game. Thats what life is all about, chillin' with good people. But if I have to pick someone......heck, I don't know. Shoot.......lettme think. I guess the lap I would sit on, I mean, sit by........is this random Longhorn that I closed my eyes and selected.
And it’s Lent too. Gonna miss start of basketball tonight. Y’all hold it down while I go to Holy Mass tonight
1sa Don't forget Naismith's first games were so violent players got knocked out. He had to refine the rules. He might have preferred LC's approach.
I was thinking more along the lines of Artereo jumping over my head to finish an alley-oop; 10-16 K seat arenas specifically for BB; goals that are not nailed to the walls; Final Fours with 60 K+ attending/half the country watching & $ BB bet on brackets with 68 teams involved + the NIT + the CIT. In his day the World Series was the biggest annual sports event. Today the WS MIGHT come in 3rd behind the Super Bowl & March Madness.
When we housed the Naismith archive for KU while they built their memorial area I visited and listened to a radio interview I think from the 30s. Naismith laughed at the unexpected turns HIS game had taken including players tackling and knocking others unconscious. He mentioned how he had to make adjustments I think He would love how the game has evolved, btw I never pass up an opportunity to remind my JayHawker relatives Texas did them a favor.
