I've been watching UT football for more than 20 years and I've never seen such rediculous, stupid, self-destruction from penalties (and alleged penalties) at critical game times. Do we have the stupidest players in the NCAA? How many OU points came off drives extended by 3rd/4th down penalties? Oh, and ABC, I love how you don't show replays for most of the critical Texas penalties.
This has to be one of the most undisciplined teams I've seen in long time. If Muschamp can't keep a reign in on one side of the ball, what school thinks he's going to do it on both sides?
Penalties and an offense that was inept for three quarters because they refused to attack the less than stellar ou defense.
No. Our inept offense lost the game. This is the worst offense I"ve seen since the days of Fred Akers. We are really, really bad on offense. Penalties have been untimely and costly, it's true, but our problem is offense.

I concur. The lack of discilpine on the defense is a major problem. I think they costed us the game. Now, the offense does have major problems. But this game the defense did us in.
1775 is correct about 3rd down penalties......I thought that every 3rd down penalty resulted in all 4 OU scores......either way (21 or 28 points), that was the game.
I agree so hard on the penalties. In a lot of ways, this game reminded me of last year's OU game, except our defense bailed OU out. Our offense was actually good enough to win today, which is shocking. But our defense handed OU 3 scores.
3rd down penalties were a joke and did cost Texas the game. I thought before the year Texas would lose 3 to 5 games and I still feel that way. Texas must try to improve every stinking week and build towards next year already.
I have been watching Texas since 1969 and there have been some pretty bad Texas teams during this period but it has been awhile, I remember the losing years. I think what is Important now is to show improvement between now and end of the year.
Just got home from the game. I still can't quite believe what Jeffcoat did and when he did it. Most of the people sitting around me didn't even see the penalty because it happened so long after the play. Everybody was busy high fiving over the stop and the chance to make it a one-score lead. What a childish, selfish, stupid penalty.
I may give Jeffcoat a pass, he is a freshman and he did play his heart out, he made a great play on defense, caused a great turnover but Eddie Jones was offside. Texas players have to stop making so many stupid penalties though or the losing will continue period.
I'm surprised our offense scored 20. On the other other hand if 2 field goals were td's, score tied. Why does GG sail it when he gets close to the end zone?
i am with you NRA 1775. Those penelaties were stupid, moronic and came at the worst possible times. It was like shooting your toes off one at a time. I would love to be a fly on the wall when Muschamp "dis-cusses those atrocities with him. And yes I know he is awesome talent but what he did KILLED us.
Let's put it this way. We didn't do ourselves any favors. That first drive we insisted that 0klahoma score -- "No please. Sorry for stopping you decisively. Here, let's gift you a first down so that you can continue your drive." And don't get me started about Jeffcoat. He played right into their hands. When are you going to learn, kid? And excuse me: how the HELL did we get unsportsmanlike on getting blocked after the whistle? Was that a foul for being a Longhorn? Someone who saw that please explain why we got that offsetting unsportsmanlike? Was it for trying to throw that guy off before he got thrown into the sidelines? Really? REALLY?
Gabe, Our offense did not play good enough to win today. We scored 20 points against a very mediocre ou defense. We scored less than Utah St. Air Force and Cincinatti. Our defense limited them to 7 points in the second half. Our offense settled for field goals in the red zone, and did not attack ou's defense untill the 4th quarter. Our red zone offense is even worse than the regular offense.
They called Vacarro for the unsportsman like return penalty I think because after being blocked for 15 yds, he finally kind of threw the guy off him. It was totally BS. Should have just been 15 on OU. Vacarro was just trying to get the guy off him. Refs sucked all day.
If you had seen Jeffcoat you would understand. Like I said, the coaches HAD TO hold him back. He looked like he was gonna lay some bastard out.
