I somehow felt optomistic after this game.
We played a more experienced OU team (and the refs, as well) yet were only some freshman mistakes and penalties away from a win.
This may be rough year for those expecting championship runs, but I see great potential for the future.
They fought the entire game and just need to learn not to shoot themselves in the foot.
I am cautiously optomistic about our trip to Nebraska.
History has us performing well after such a game with OU.

Agree....I thought at 14-0 it was going to be a route....they d was already gases and the offense was throwing bubble screens 5 yards behind the los

I think we can take NU...we are due for a mistake free game.

    we can win 8 games.

Agreed. They didn't give up tonight like they did last week, and they almost pulled off a major comeback. Keep fighting Horns, every play, every day. [IMG]

I appreciate the effort and I'm encouraged, too. This may well be a turning point for this team. They can look back and know that they could have and should have won this game. The defense played well and the offense had their best game of the season. If they can stop being stupid, they could win the rest. But that's a big "if".

Being a stupid team is a hell of a lot easier to fix than not having any talent to work with. They have a lot to clean up, but there is talent there, and a damn good defense. They are closer than some are giving them credit for.

Sorry guys, but the defense absolutely gave up on Murray's TD run down the sideline.

They showed a ton more resilience than I did as a fan. I thought we were on the verge of a rout at the end of the first quarter, but we were back in it at the end. Another coaching opportunity for the next two weeks.

    Good fight.

Painful as it is to say, the better team won today. But they had to beat our guys for four quarters - there was no "quit" in the Longhorns. The mistakes can be corrected. This Longhorn team will continue to improve - and the future looks very bright, indeed.

You did not mention the uncalled hold on Murray's TD down the left sideliine.

I cannot believe that the committed penalties were as one-sided as the ones called. I call ******** on the referees.

The last personal foul was a retaliation for a late hit by a sooner.

There was an uncalled helmet to helmet tackle by the sooners.

As bad as Davis called plays in the first half and as unprepared as Muschamp had the defense for the 1st half hurry-up offense, we still could / should have won that game.

I see no improvement next year, unless Davis and McWhorter leave and a miracle occurs on the offensive side. Twice in the red zone for FGs. Two TDs and the game is tied. We have been "working on" the running game for years now, and no improvement.

You played with heart and never quit. Too many mistakes to overcome and some hosing by the refs. You will beat 'em next year! [IMG]
