good question. they are playing a freshman qb and rolling over people. washington beat usc last week. thye arent great but they kicked their ***. k. st. beat ucla, a team that kicked the crap out of us at home. nebraska has gone back to basics, a great running team. if nebraska opens less than a 10 point fav against us, ill be shocked.
K State looks AWFUL in this game. Cannot tackle, SLOW on offense and especially D, and the only speed Nub has on O is Martinez. Yes, Nub is very good, but not as good as they look tonight against an awful performance by K State.
NU is plenty good enough to beat the holy **** out of a K st team that beat ucla handily. And it seems ucla handed our asses to us on a silver platter. NU is good enough to beat our asses if we don't play the best game, by far, that we've played all year.
Yeah, but I gave up trying to compare scores and outcomes a LONG time ago. But..if you insist... KSU did not beat the Holy s#$$ out of ucla. They won by 9 and they both had almost the same amount of yards. The one extra turnover cost ucla. KSU clung to a 1 point lead with 6 minutes to go, and scored 14 in the last 2:03 of the game.
They have a freshman qb who has over 700 yards rushing in 5 games and they have running backs who can run, obviously they have a very good offensive line. They are going to do their best to blow Texas off the map Sorry Nebraska but you will still be 2 wins and 8 losses against Texas in the last 10 games and Texas isn't very good this year. May be there is one good team in the Big 12 this year? So far they are the most impressive.
It is going to take an effort from our team that we haven't seen thus far to stay on the field with them. NU is the best blocking team I've seen this year. It's hard to tackle- no matter how fast your defense is- if you're laying flat on your back.
as retarded as the youngstown mafia is, that team is coached up. we will have to play well to prevent embarassment.
Not a good match up. We're soft in the middle and NU will attack there and then try and get the QB outside the tackle for cut backs. I sure hope we play smart ball and cut down the penalties and unforced turnovers. If not we're dead.
ksu looked horribly flat hopefully Texas will put 8 in the box and force T.M. to beat us with his arm.
KSU is 4-1. with a victory over ucla. How are they "that bad"? Last I heard we are 3-2 and lost to ucla. Our best win is over ttu who got beat by Iowa ******* state. ISU laid 52 on ttu. things are not lined up well lads.
I'm thinking Neb's OL is the best in the country. It's against K-State, but even one of the best OL vs one of the worst DL won't open up holes near that big. QB is fast so he really benefits from the size of holes they have. Not all that great of a passer. Their defense is nothing special at all. Getting to watch that defense tonight gives me some hope our offense can do something.
I don't think the game in Lincoln is a good matchup for the Horns. That said, I don't see a single good transitive argument noted above. I am not a fan of those types of logic, but sometimes it makes sense. This early in the season, coming after a pretty spirited outing against the main rival and a two week break to regroup, who can really say what is going to happen.
We must play disciplined defense and not miss tackles. I know that sounds like we're screwed, but we do have the talent capable slowing that offense down to a crawl if we can do those 2 things. Offensively, there is a lot more than 2 things we need to do better.
Definitely gonna load up in the box because T-Magic winds up to throw like a baseball pitcher. Nose of the ball is always down....delivery is slow. Muschamp will make him throw. And KSU came into the game dead last in passing offense. They're a completely one-dimensional offense...no air threat. Nebraska hasn't faced a sophisticated passing game yet -- especially not a horizontal attack.
Texas started with the ranking that it will deserve at the end of the season, and will probably end the season with the ranking that it deserved at the beginning. People are underestimating Texas now, which is understandable. Nebraska isn't making that mistake. UT is 10 dumb errors away from running away with every game that they have played. If UT makes those errors, they fall apart without much help. If they don't, they will eat you. When correctable mistakes are holding an otherwise top 10 team back, they will post a mediocre record and threaten every team that they play with a blowout loss. Nebraska is keenly aware of this. So I can't say which UT will show up, and it's not binary. The Horns will get their **** together this year, and when that happens they are going to pile drive a series of people who were not expecting that result. All Nebraska can do is hope that it doesn't start with them (which is an entirely reasonable thing to hope for).
Amen, Rex. I don't know if you're right, but amen, brother! We must show up angry, confident and capable. The defense needs to become ball hawks. Pure savagery. f**k. Them. Up.
"All Nebraska can do is hope that it doesn't start with them (which is an entirely reasonable thing to hope for)." ______________________ I feel pretty sure the cornshysters are confident they don't need to hope Texas plays badly, again. They plan on helping Texas play awful.
