I suspect not, but there should be. No doubt some portion of the lawyers among you will disagree and cite endless precedent for such a thing being unenforceable, but being disagreeable is rather a sine qua non for the profession, no?
Of course not. But there is a rollover clause. That's a huge problem. No matter how poorly you perform, you get an extension.

No, I've heard a bunch of spoiled fans that are pissed because they can't live up to their regular level of arrogance. Whether this situation is corrected now or later, there is a level of immaturity and disregard for reality that in is in no way responsible for the problems but will still hurt the program for the future.
For one thing, DKR wasn't fired from Texas and Mack wasn't fired from North Carolina. But anyway, besides Simms and Mock, the Longhorn we seem to throw under the bus unfairly most often is Fred Akers. He had a winning record against Barry Switzer and had us playing for the National Title twice, and had only one losing season. He wasn't an elite coach, but he was more successful than most.
The problem with Akers was a sort of institutional arrogance that prompted a downward slide into mediocrity.
I am a Longhorn to the bone, and this season makes me gut sick. And I'm real tired of Greg Davis' tired ****. BUT, Mack Brown raised this program up from some pretty dark days. We won a MNC with him at the helm. That doesn't buy him unqestioning loyalty for the rest of time, but ****! Really? Really? What would you propose as his replacement? And who the f**k would be stupid enough to take you up on the offer right after you ran off one the most successfull college football coaches in history? I'm pissed and I don't like what's going on, but the man was telling them when they beat Rice that he saw a lot of entitlement and selfishness on the team.
Tossing out the entire staff is crazy, but there should be some adjustments made, if just to change the tenor and tone of the place. Bring in someone that has an emotional impact. Robinson did that, Tomey did that, and Muschamp did that, at least at first. Maybe what we need is some energy and fire on the offense that Muschamp could feed off of. People can defend GD's technical ability, but I've never known anyone to call him a ball of fire.
May I humbly submit an alternative? I say we can the entire football program, the whole kit and caboodle and reinvest the new found wealthy in Men's Soccer. We could be the ULTIMATE kingpin in Men's soccer, just mull it over for a while and get back to me.
Isn't there a way to get out of a contract on the grounds of nonperformance? I mean, doesn't MB actually have to coach to have fulfilled his side of the contract?
