Looks like he has lost his starting job at both reciever and returner. I am not to sure that the starting three are any better but it is nice to see Monroe and Davis at kick returner!

I like the idea but the timing is weird.

Monroe has been in the doghouse all year. I guess it is Malcolm's turn now.

    Just play the best 22.

I think that's what they are doing. Kirkendoll and Davis have been our only WRs to demonstrate anything approaching consistency.

Malcolm is like a Ferrari with a 4 cylinder engine. He looks damn good but the performance just isn't there.

    You're all wrong, as usual.

This is Greg's way of rewarding him for making a TD catch and even occasionally blocking on running plays.

Agree with LagoHorn, one catch last week. A TE I'd never heard of before kickoff had that many and actually worked his way open to get it.

?? Kirkendoll's week-to-week receiving stats are lot more consistent than everyone else's. Since we began conference play the only outlier is the Nebraska game.

Catches in the other games 6-8-8-5-3-6-4-4
Yards in the other games 122-42-87-44-57-71-72-123

Nobody else has numbers that consistent even throwing out their worst game as well (which is Nebraska for pretty much everyone), and only Davis comes close. Chiles and Goodwin have a couple of other complete duds in the mix. Hales has a couple of ok games mostly in the 4th but he hasn't been getting open much in his limited minutes against 1st teamers. White has done nothing with the few opportunities he's gotten. Our TEs have mostly just dropped stuff.

Kirk is the only consistent receiver on the team, don't understand why people want to talk **** about the kid.

he's the ONLY kid we have that will put his body out there and make catches.

Try him out at tailback! 9 yards deep. Always thought he looked more like Andrian Petersen than (Good) Roy Willams! He's not a senior, maybe flex TE could be in the works

Nebraska also has the very best cornerbacks in the league.

So we are rewarding production or lack thereof by demoting players? Man why can't this apply to the coaching *cough our OC cough* staff?

Another good thing about Kirkendoll isn't that he hasn't gotten on my WR hit list since Nebraska last year, and we still won that one.

Nebraska - INT caused by Buckner
Nebraska - TD pass dropped by Kirkendoll
Alabama - TD pass dropped by Williams
Alabama - INT caused by Monroe
Alabama - INT caused by Goodwin
Texas Tech - INT caused by Williams
Nebraska - TD pass dropped by Williams
Iowa State - INT caused by Davis
Baylor - TD dropped by Matthews
Baylor - INT caused by Smith
Kansas State - INT caused by Hales
Kansas State - TD dropped by Chiles
Florida Atlantic - TD dropped by Goodwin

Kirkendoll missed what I believe would have turned into a TD versus Baylor. He could have had a TD versus NU.

Goodwin missed two very near TDs recently because he is not looking for the ball.

Davis has dropped balls and fumbled recently.

No one is playing flawlessly so a potential game breaker should get some work. This team lacks big plays so I would be willing to trade one drop for one big play each game.

I don't know what goes on in practice but the lack of playing time for Johnson and Williams has hurt this offense considerably in my opinion. He has not played much lately, but I don't remember him dropping one since NU. Then again there are so many drops it is difficult to remember them all.

Stat pretty much has it. Although if Kirk catches that ball against Neb. last year, it saves a lot of consternation...

Malcolm Williams is a freak, I don't know why you guys throw fades into the end zone for Kirkendoll and throw it to Williams on 2-yard hitches. Total misuse of a physical specimen. I'd trade, like, 4 OU wide receivers for him straight up. Not really. But I might.

What about Garret Gilbert not being demoted? Is this really fair?

Kirkendoll still avoided the hit list on a technicality, but his performance on that first interception was about the same as Scott's on the TD to Jeff Fuller - looked like he was trying to make sure the other guy was the one to come down with the ball.

And yes, looks like more DJ Monroe was definitely the answer to our problems all along.
