Hopefully he gets picked up somewhere and he gets an opportunity to play, even as a backup, as I think he still has a lot to show the NFL.
I'm a little surprised, not shocked, but surprised. Regardless, i think he will land on his feet. If he finds a coach who has faith in his abilities, the sky will be the limit for him.
If this is true then at least I can go back to my natural state of hating Bud Adams and everything associated with him. Apologies to Griffin and Scaife but they might be better off gone as well.
a free agent??? God help the Titans if they ever have to play against again. You don't piss off. You wouldn't like when he's pissed.
This is great news! Thank God he's outta there! now he needs to go to a team that's a fit, and have some fun!
It's widely believed that Scaife has played his last game as a Titan as well. Maybe all the Horns in the league should get together and start their own franchise. I'm thinking they might build a pretty good fan base out of San Antonio. Somebody call Red McCombs...
Here is the link to the Titans statement posted on their website. www.titansonline.com/news/article-1/Titans-Statement-on-Vince-Young/e6956b8c-5cb3-4841-865f-2dec8cda9464
I can see Vince wanting to go home to Houston to play and now the Texans have the opportunity to get an experienced, proven winner and mature QB all in one. Well, two out of three anyway. It's almost like getting a two fer and having their cake and eating it too!
Somewhere Chris Johnson is crying. His productivity was always much better with Vince in the game. Well, no more reason to watch the Titans. I hope Vince lands someplace that will provide him the support he needs to grow.
I bet Fisher is let go as well. If so, that's probably the best for the Titans as a franchise. Release both of them and start with a clean slate next season.
VY, whatever you do, don't go to Oakland. Al Davis will throw you under the bus like he did Marcus Allen. I think here are some teams he might go to: Minnesota-Team up with Adrian Peterson. Miami-Team up with Ricky SF-Hasn't had a QB since Steve Young Arizona- Derek Anderson too busy yelling at reporters I think this is best for both sides and one thing for sure is he will be with a coach who wants him.
Hopefully he will use this opportunity to pick the best spot for him. If you are smart (like Priest Holmes), you can turn this into a real positive. Good luck to
I wonder if Seattle would be interested...their offense wasn't too shabby with a mobile QB scheme against the Rams. Pete Carroll liked Vince in 2005 as well. Maybe even Arizona?
Had to happen after his actions. Fisher has been with Adams a long time and has a pretty solid history with majority of the players. Fisher will be picked up if fired in a second. I think VY will struggle to find another starting qb job in the NFL, with his maturity it comes with a big risk.
It's supposed to get cold next week. If any of you x-Titans fan want to donate your Titans gear I could use the fuel for my chiminea. BTW, props to Vince! I can now root for him again.
Watch Bud give that porn-stash an extension.....what a mediocre POS. I hope wherever VY ends up he plays the Titans on a regular basis so he can look over to the side line after a TD pass and hold up a jar of Vasoline!
Free at last!!! The misadventure is over. No more reason to follow the Titans, Bud, and Fisher. It is always about the money. Fisher doesn't cost as much as VY and will be Bud's lackey forever. It's not about wins and losses with Bud. Good riddance.
Minn" yeah. Hadn't considered SF but that wouldn't be bad either. But one thing for sure, I am done with the Titans - except for my signed # 10 Jersey of course. Hookem - land on your feet Vince. Lots of folks pulling for you.
he'll have to pull a mike vick. no way anyone picks him up as their #1 going into this next year. come to think of it, he might be a great fit in philly for a year to showcase his abilities. reid could plug him in here and there with the intention of trading him for a draft pick once vince proves he can play. after all, isn't that why he brought vick in?
The lengths writers will go to to gratuitously trash VY never cease to amaze me. Here's a quote from one ESPN story on his release: ""Young is 30-17 in his five NFL seasons, but only 13-14 against teams finishing a season at .500 or better. " I dare the writer who took the time to dig up that dirt to also tell us what the Titans' overall record is against teams finishing a season at .500 or better in Fisher's entire tenure as coach of the Titans. I bet his overall winning percentage against such teams is poorer than VY's, but we'll never see those stats.
All of you apologists need to come of out denial about the guy. He needs to grow up. There appear to be major issues with his work ethic and maturity. Fisher may be an a-hole, but on Twitter all the NFL people are saying the majority of players wanted Vince gone as well. Adam's people, the ones he pays to advise him, advised him to keep Fisher and dump Young. It takes more than talent to be a successful NFL QB. He won Texas an NC, has a decent record as a starter in Tennessee but at Texas he was always the best athlete on the field. That isn't the case in the NFL and if the work ethic is not there this is what you end up with.
