Mick We love us some Cannucks. Seriously they come across as nice young men oh and wow can they play round ball. Are you in Toronto/ and do you get to watch many of the games on Tv there or do you use the puter?
Howdy, Toronto Mick. We're happy to have you, just as we're thrilled to be having another "Myck" from the Toronto area (I realize his name is pronounced differently). If Mr. Kabongo performs as well and meshes as well in Austin as his Grassroots Canada teammates have, then the future is very bright for Longhorns hoops.
Born, raised and still livin in TO. Became a Texas Football fan at 13 and started following the basketball and baseball teams after that. Another Canuck B-Baller comin next year. Hope the first two stay and maybe we get us a Championship next year. Hook Em Y'all! Mick
I like our Canadian pipeline and would love to see us keep it going....got any offensive linemen up there that might like to come down and play here???
Football a totally different animal. I think Texas High School teams could beat our university teams up here. The passing game is almost non-exsistent with high school teams so the odd O-Lineman with size up here might hold his own run blocking but ask him to pass block a speed-rushing end and he would be shi? outta luck! Great win against Ku. Hook Em Eh!
Get most games on local cable College Football/basketball package. I am in Toronto so if you or anybody else comes up this way, call me at The Shamrock and Thistle Pub, 416-239-9468 if you want to watch The Horns!
There's also a chance that we'll get another Canuck in addition to Kabongo. I believe his name is Kenny Thomas (actually I'm pretty sure of the last name, but not sure of the first). He's our backup plan in case Deandre Daniels decides to choose the bad guys.
TorontoMike: Went to Toronto on a short vacation a few years ago to use up a comp American Airlines round-trip ticket to anywhere in the U.S., Caribbean, or Canada. Heard great things about Toronto, had already been to Puerto Rico, etc., so to the Great White North I went. Very, very cosmopolitan, fine city, Toronto is. Walking down the jetway from the plane I asked a lady traveller who sounded Canadian: "I'm from Texas, please inform me, what do you call someone from Toronto, a Torontian, a Torontonite....?" She didn't skip a beat: "Leaf fan." lol Went to pub/bar one night, may have been yours, I don't remember, and watched the Leafs playing on TV, IIRC a playoff game for the Stanley Cup. In spite of not caring for hockey at all, had a great time meeting new people. Went up on the CN Tower, saw the Blue Jays play the Indians next door, went to Niagra Falls, visited a couple of wineries in the region. Great 3-4 day trip, highly recommended to any Texan. Hook 'em
