How about we all get Giffords healthcare plan? With the current system or ObamaCare, the majority of americans would have lost the battle. IF the government is going to mandate that we all get insurance make them get the same insurance that the poor people are offered.
Let me state it this way then, if she did not have the healthplan that government workers have, say she didn't have health insurance, would she have gotten the same care? Answer that honestly? If I, standard corporate health plan that in 2011 is going to cost me about 300% more than 2008 with no major changes in status, would I have had the same care as her? I don't think so, my odds of perishing are alot different than Giffords. I say if we are going to pay out of our *** that we are created equal and deserve equal treatment. Especially if you are going to force it upon me. Hey buddy, while it may not be legal charges, the IRS can put a lien on you for just about anything. Make a little more money and challenge them, you will find out real quick what they can do, and that is not illegal.
So I can choose whether to have a car or not, I don't have to pay for insurance, tags, or gas unless I choose to own or lease a car? Novel freedom.
The state compels me to buy insurance if I drive a car. What if I want to drive and not buy insurance?
You are taking a risk. Many people take this risk, the numbers bear that out. It has become more difficult since you have to show proof to register and have your car inspected. That is the reason that our auto insurance has increased. More uninsured/underinsured people that cause damage to individuals that are fully insured. Someone has to share that cost, and that becomes the taxpayer. When the uninsured needs attention, the burden goes fully to the taxpayer.
The health insurance mandate is insurance for OTHER people, should you not take responsibility for your own health care and cause them [to have to pay for your care] damages...
Also, buying car insurance is mandated by the state government. I can't honestly say what states do or don't have this requirment. The question is that the federal government is now mandating the purchase of a private product (health insurance.) Also, as clearly stated that the purchase of car insurance, is a responsibility that goes with what the law clearly says is a priviledge. The licensing of driving a private motor vehicle on a public road is not a right. I would suggest that living is a right. Therefore, you are saying that the federal government now has the authourity to mandate you purchase a private good in order to maintain the right to live. That is bat *** crazy.
