It's quoting a line from Mack's press conference earlier today. Glad to see it in other media, give us some pub and players a chance to see it in print other than MBTF.

Although I support the Longhorns (I'm a UT graduate), I'm not willing to buy the statement Mack is "back in the game" just yet. Let's see what happens in practice and on the field later this year. Mack's statement that he never got over the loss in the national championship game and that disappointment carried over into the next season surprised me. A head coach with all his experience allowing one big loss negatively impact an entire season? C'mon Mack, man up!

You can read it either way. I look at it as him being open and honest about what still bothers him to this day. Had to be extremely hard on him to watch the team's hopes get crushed throughout that whole night. We all saw Colt's post-game interview after it was over. We were all feeling for him and the rest of the team. I don't want to talk abt that game or the following season ever again, but I don't blame Mack one bit for having a hard time shucking it off. Kudos to him for being honest.

I always thought that was the problem. I saw him at a basketball game last January looking like someone close to him had just died. And into the season he just seemed like an angry, disturbed guy.

It may not be a legit excuse, but I think it is an accurate portrayal.

I'm on the 2nd row 45 yardline right right behind where the OL sit when the def is on the field. I've had those seats for 10 years now and before this season I only seen Mack come over to the OL bench and chew them out one time the first 9 years. Last season I can remember specifically 3 times that I thought Mack was going to have a stroke after chewing out the OL. This is just at the home games. I can speak for when they are on the road.

Hopefully our new OL coach will light a fire under the OL asses and save Mack several years of his life. [IMG]

That is perfectly understandable. The OL almost gave me a stroke several times in the last couple years.

    Remember Mackovic's "post-concussion syndrome" in 1994?

    I35,

The OL may have been killing him, but I tend to agree with the notion that their problems were somewhat a function of "scheme".

Texas Football is Mack Browns baby and baby was pretty damn sick last year. He knew extreme measure were going to be needed to get baby back.

Add in the off the field personal losses and it was good.

I give Mack a lot of credit because I think he went way out of the comfort zone in his hires because he thought it was best for Texas. I dont think a lot of 58 year old people can do that easily, especially with his track record of sustained success.
