Here we are discussing the win total for the year, and many of us predicted short of 20 wins. And tonight the Texas basketball team reaches 20 wins faster in the calendar year than any other UT basketball team in the history of the university. Congratulations Horns...we look forward to sharing in and celebrating many more accomplishments this season. And we thank you for what has been achieved thusfar.
if you had told me last year when we were 17-0 that next years team would get to 20 wins faster, I don't know if I would have laughed or cried or cried.
With 8 more regular season games, the Big 12 tournament, and then the NCAA tournament, they could hit 30 wins. Has a horns team done that before?
Hopefully, they hit 37 wins... On a side note, to answer the 30 win question, yes. The DJ Augustin Elite 8 team got to 31-7. Interestingly, the TJ Ford FF team only got to 26-7, primarily because they played 4 fewer regular season games than this year's squad.
I was looking at 30 wins and the potential for that is huge. 6-2 minimum next 8 games, 2 wins in Big12 tourney minimum, and minimum 2 wins in big dance. IMO, that scenario above is the least we could do. Not to jinx anything, but looks to me like the 31 win barometer is certainly within reach. But we'll take this game by game and fight for each win as we've been doing. Not getting ahead of myself here, just supporting and appreciating this team.
At this point I really only care about one more win. I'm sure we'll win more than the one but I just want to win our last game.
Its great that we have 20 wins so early but in fairness,the season has been starting a bit earlier than in the past.Also,there are numerous preseason games. In the past,the season really didn't start until arounf thanksgiving. Hopefully,this team will break the all time record for wins.
