    AP Poll 3/14

I agree that the seedings do not make much sense.
We got f&*cked while others got a big favor.

It's pretty clear they flipped Texas and Florida. They didnt want to give Texas, San Antonio and the first round games are in Tampa.

Dan Beebe probably was the decider.

"Dan, we can give Texas a 4 and get them in Tulsa instead of flying way out to Tampa as a 2. What do you think?"

"Huh? I dont know, sounds good to me. Are there cookies?"

Let's just go out and win the whole thing and shut all the naysayers up. I'm beginning to think TX is like the New York Yankees...people either love you or hate you and nothing in between. [IMG]

Duke fans must be fuming, too. Their team gets shipped out to Anaheim, and paired with a team that should be a 2-seed, instead of a true 4-seed, like Florida. The Duke-Texas game will be interesting.

Gonna need teh MSU gameplan from a few years back to stop the big fella from Oakland.

Then if Texas does win, they get a potent Arizona squad(regular season pac 10 champs).

Then if somehow Texas wins that they get a Duke squad historically that they have never won.

Not sure they get past Arizona. Will Gary Johnson regain his focusness?

I thought ranking modified by RPI were the main considerations. UT is ranked #8, and our RPI has to be high with all the good teams we played this year. That would have to equal a #3 seed, or even with a slight stretch, #2. But it's all water under the dam now, time to put up or shut up.

Our latest RPI is 11 (link below). The RPI is fairly stupid in its ranking of lower teams. It should focus on elite teams you play. But we get hammered b/c we play teams ranked in the 200s instead of the 100s, when in reality, it doesn't make a difference because we'd beat any of them by 15.

accurate: There's no metric to go by, but RPI ends up being closest because that's the one that the committee can fall back on easiest -- not that they pick them that way, but when you're looking to rank teams quickly, you always have that at hand.

But I agree regarding Texas not scheduling to the RPI. Here it may have hurt.
