Interesting blog from a writer in Omaha:

Some of the comments are classic.

Give the author credit, he tried to move on. Unfortunately the children of the corn cannot. Even the comment that points to one reason why Nebraska is great and superior to Texas- they are third in all time football wins. Unfortunately for him he is trying to bash the #2 team.

Nebraska may be superior to us.

They have more national titles after all.

But that hardly seems relevent. They lost to us in football alot and took it really personally for reasons I cannot quite understand. Like somehow we were really mean to keep trying to win football games. It just boggles my mind they then went out and constructed all these conspiracy theories about how we shot Herbie Husker from the Grassy Knoll.

They must be expecting a world-record wine-fest in Omaha over the next couple of weeks, what with all the sour grapes up there. I don't suppose the firing of the Husker baseball coach had anything to do with the declining record of their program. Ya think?

It's amazing the number of people who equate pride in a program and its success with arrogance.

My two cents. The "who the hell do these horns think
they are?" likely started with Roll Left. I vividly remember
Osborne's face when the camera panned him right after
that play and subsequent touchdown. He EXPECTED to
win and when he was made to look foolish he took it
personally --- and has ever since.

It'll probably take a decade after our horns are surgically removed from their asses before they start to act a little more civil, but the bottom line is that they were a Bully for years. Then someone came along that was bigger, richer, faster, more popular, smarter and just plain better at most things. They can't handle it, or at least not many of them handle it well.

And Osborne has always been an arrogant asshat that will do anything to win at all costs...see the "Walk on Program" and Lawrence Phillips. He knew the end was near the minute we insisted that Big XII athletes be able to read and write to get a scholly.

I'll never forget the look on Husker fans' faces after Texas beat them on their own field last season. Walking to our car after the game in Lincoln certainly provided some interesting people watching. It reminded me of the looks I saw in St. Louis at the TWA Dome after Roll Left in 1996.

NU couldn't beat Texas in football or baseball; it's academics sucked so much that it got kicked out of the AAU; and in it's last season of baseball in the Big XII, it certainly won't be in Omaha.

That richly deserved inferiority complex that started in 1996 will continue to give Huskers fans nightmares for some time.

Given all the grief they've dished out to Texas during the Big XII, all I can say is:
