Hypothetical question. Ags move to SEC, Texas cancels yearly game with the aggies. Ags no longer have a marquis game in the Lone Star State, who televises your games with Miss St., Vandy etc. Are these games shown in Texas and where? Does this really help your recruiting, sure didn't help Arkansas in Texas. If Texas is playing Tech and the ags are playing LSU who gets regional coverage. I am betting on Texas.
This argument is getting old but I will play. I think as long past he Aggs win, they will be on TV and viewership will lead to recognition and prestige. Right now the Aggs are poised to have their best year in the past decade and are on the verge of turning things around with recruiting. If this year is a flop and they don't win for what ever reason..... well its self explanatory. The SEC wold be using an acquisition of A&M not because its a football power but because it would use the opportunity for recruiting not to mention expanding its viewership based on potential. If what you asked in your post is hypothetically and comes to fruition, I would be more interested in what A&M becomes with out Texas. Everything A&M has done is about hating Texas. Their fight song, their fish camps, what would happen to the culture of Aggie Land. That intrigues me more than viewership in the SEC or recruiting.
I understand the question but even with a move to the SEC, I can't imagine an A&M schedule without Texas for decades.
it really depends on whether the beak up of the big 12 is amicable (as it can be) or if folks leave with hard feelings. last year, dodds was the one who threatened ending the rivalry.
A threat I wish he'd followed through with. I am sick and goddam tired of aggy. I want to be rid of aggy forever. Just like those hemorrhoids I had last year.
quite a zinger there, aggyeric. now, go back to your corner, cry about not being in the sec yet, and get busy humping more sheep.
eric, i don't even think a Delorean can get you as far back as you'd need to go in order to see aggy dominance in football.
